Router is on its way.. question from a new user

Recommended Posts

Just purchased a netduma router. Just wondering if there is anything I should know before I take it out of the box/install it?

I use windows 7. I am using a dual-pc setup to stream obs to twitch. I play primarily h1z1 and league of legends. Is there anything I should know/do before I take this thing out of the box?

That's great to hear. For those PC games, you'll not need the Geo-filter to get the best host, so you'll mostly be using the detailed ping stats and congestion control features to your advantage and eliminate local congestion. You'll see huge benefits when gaming and streaming at the same time. Let us know if you have any questions :)

Thanks for the warm welcome ^_^ You're right about geo-filter, I'm probably not going to bother with that. The reason I'm getting this router is to hopefully eliminate a very slight network lag when I turn my stream on. My ping doesn't raise and I have plenty of upload to spare, but it still adds a very slight, but noticeable, input lag to everything I do in-game (despite my ping staying the exact same).

Hoping prioritizing my game over everything else will get rid of this input lag.

remember to have ALL devices running through the netduma to get it's full potential. Welcome to the duma army :)

Can't stress this enough, how much this tip helps.

With the Netduma, You will certainly see the difference from having all traffic going through it from your HUB(Modem) to Netduma vs Hub(Modem) -> router-> Netduma

ESPECIALLY if you're running Modem/Router combo from your ISP, as I hope you're not lol. Because even if you don't see it, there's still minor issues. Some get lucky and don't have problems and to that I say that's about 1%.

None the less, Enjoy and happy gaming!

Hello again friends. Got my router and I love it. So much better than my old asus router. I was wondering if maybe you guys would like to sponsor me/work out some sort of partnership? I am a professional overwatch player turned full-time streamer ready to sing praises for this router ^_^  My stream is twitch.tv/dellor

Great to hear you're enjoying the router! I just tried to look at your Twitch but your channel has been removed by the looks of it
