...between my cable PP results and my DSL internet results

Here's cable ....post-349-0-58367800-1485804497_thumb.png

And here's  DSL...post-349-0-42159200-1485804597_thumb.png

Both were done on a quiet network and done one right after the other.

Sucks I'm gonna have to deal with the cable issue again and this is with my new TP link TC 7610 modem.

Maybe I should start checking my channels on the new modem to see if they are set correctly.

I know MoD said something about what they should look like as he's on Comcast and I'm not sure what the numbers should look like.

So Mod any ideas here on the new modem and what the numbers should look like ?

Such a shame they are putting the payments sky high for DSL at your place.

I'm still trying to cut a deal with them Z but it ain't looking good at the moment.

It's 8x4 modem. You're only connecting to 1 upload channel which is odd. But your signals look fine

How many would you suggest ? And I'll call Charter and have them adjust it to the correct number of upload channels as you know everything goes thru them.

It normally would be all 4, but some areas only use 1... I know here we only had 1 out of 4 for a while... But it depends on your upload speeds too. If you only get like 5 up then 1 channel is fine.

Yeah my speeds are 65 / 5-6 so I guess it will be fine, thanks for the assistance.

It just helps with congestion in the area to have more available channels for everyone to use. But 1 is common, especially with lower speeds. Hope it's working out good for you.

Yeah the modem made a big difference,I know the PP doesn't look like it but you should have seen it with the old modem it was about 3 times as bad but I forgot to take a pic of the PP results in my disgust after seeing the results and my haste to get the new modem up and going.

Again thanks for the recommendation on the modem, think it's gonna be a big improvement even if I do have to go back to cable I'm trying to  make it as least painful as possible.

I agree with I Am Mod Box it may be worth a call to check about those upload channels. I only have 10 upload but I have 4 channels. I'm with Comcast though.

Well I called Charter and they said they only activate 1 channel on the upload side of things with my speeds. But I could upgrade my speeds and more channels would be activated SMH.I'm sure they have their reasons for doing it but did talk to someone who seemed like he knew his stuff and strictly dealt with spectrum business accounts and said we could switch my current stuff over to the business side of things which might be a better option for me as there are a lot less people on business and apparently the lines are a lot cleaner jitter wise as it's run differently and he's a gamer and switched for the same issue's I have...bonus I think I talked him into getting a duma as he's heard of it and was thinking about it before we talked and he actually brought the subject up.

So I'm gonna have to consider this as an option now, which is good news for once... :D

Plus on an evening most businesses close so that frees up all that lovely BW in turn that should lower the jitter as you have a better modem now without the CPU issue. :)

Exactly my thinking Z and from what he was saying the "business" is just a better line as it's for business not residential.

I know it shouldn't be that way but apparently it is, they put more money into the business service over residential and they also use different drops and one of them is basically right on top of me... ;)

Great to hear but be careful some of those business class packages can add in a bunch of junk fees and crap you don't really need. I think the one good thing is they don't put caps on your bandwidth. So you can download and stream as much as you want.

What were these PPs to? My plots look like the cable one and I have Fiber...Just wondering because my ISP says my connection is fine but it seems to be quite bouncy.

I myself use google, but lots of people use twitter.

I use google as I know what it should look like and if it's off I'll use something else.

Just wanted something I could replicate for the test plots to show the difference as some people deny that they could ever have line issues with their ISP and the difference in quality a clean line can make on PP,not to mention gaming.
