SwiftCookie
Hey Duma Fam! I was just wondering if it was possible in IW to force myself into joining a server in say America for instance? (I live in Australia btw.) I only ask because in Australia late at night it's hard to find lobbies or lobbies with different players because our gaming community is so small. I used to do it in Blops2 by joining Americans. Somehow some of them joined my Aussie lobby once and so I just added them and joined them...It was actually decent because I did really well due to cods messed up lag comp algorithm, or at least that's my guess haha.... (Edit: Also can't get Temp ban to keep a dedicated server banned, just continues to join it...???) Cheers!
loopylinney
if you go to the geo filter and click on the red house icon, you will then be able to click on where you want to filter your games.
Dillinger
You can remote camp another dedicated box if you know where they are located. You have to set up over it first, with strict mode enabled - Ping Assist set to zero, and you may have to wait a minute or two before attempting to join the lobby. As for the temp ban - You have to realize that the building the dedicated server is in may hold a server compatible of hosting a dozen games, so when you hit temp ban, you are putting a 5-minute hold on that one address. If you start tracking the addresses of the dedicated servers, on the Duma, you will see that the one you ban will be gone, but other ID's are the ones that are hosting your game, but in the same physical location. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 3, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 3, 2017 Yes it should be possible, being in the UK I always force US servers during testing. Feel free to try my method for doing so: Hard turn off console Set home location, strict on, ping assist 0 Wait for map to be clear Boot up console and game, then search! ??? Profit

Will test it out tomorrow Well back in Blops2 on PS3 It always worked out well for me on a 2 bar connection in US lobbies but things are probably different now. I was always able to get double and triple Nuclears. I dunno there's just a muuuuuuch bigger player population so you're more likely to find scrub lobbies unlike Australia. In Australia you'll constantly find the same people in lobbies which gets annoying lol

Profit Hmm just tried this method and couldn't find a game....IW MM wanted me on an Aussie server but when the Duma shut it down the game just gave up hahaha The only time the map lit up in America was when I first pressed to go into multiplayer. I guess they have some sort of regional lock in place to avoid people joining from certain countries?
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted January 5, 2017 Netduma Staff Share Posted January 5, 2017 There probably isn't a regional block given that we have been able to force US servers; however there may be a ping block given the distance between America and Australia. Since we're in the UK, the ping we'll get is relatively low compared to what you'd get; the game might stop you connecting to America because your ping would be too high. I pinged the west coast servers and they were the lowest ping for me, about 180ms ping. Thought that would have been okay but no
ColonicBoom
I pinged the west coast servers and they were the lowest ping for me, about 180ms ping. Thought that would have been okay but no I would have thought you could get onto the US dedis with 180ms. Much as most people would like to see a ping limit on CoD they certainly didn't stop that kind of ping getting onto the European dedis on BO3 (and worse). I doubt it would be much fun though. I've played on the US servers at about 100ms and that was about my limit for enjoyable games.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 6, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 6, 2017 In that case, I would try repeating my steps and make sure the console is definitely hard turned off. Maybe increase the waiting times before you boot it all up again.
