psn account hacked?

OK guys n gals, I have recently been the victim of a hack attack on my PSN acount.

They changed my email address etc so that I couldn't even log into chat.

First things first. To help prevent any loss of money from wallet funding etc turn off auto funding on your PS, even better pay for things on a one off basis each time you want to buy something.

Do not link your paypal account either.

Make sure you use different passwords for different accounts that use the same email address.

If however you do find that your email login address has been changed and you didn't do it it can be reversed in a matter of minutes if you know where to go to get help.

The fastest way would be to go to twitter and post to "ask playstation" or if you are in the UK ask playstation uk.

Make sure you are following them so that they can send you a Private Message.

They will invite you to a private chat and confirm your Identity, I also had to upload a copy of my passport during the chat or drivers license etc so may be worth getting a pic of this before you contact them.

If you have lost any money whilst your account has been compromised they will need the serial numbers of your console/s to start the task of getting you refunded.

After your id has been confirmed they will send you a link to reinstate your account to as it was before it was hacked.

You use your current password for this to gain access to your account again but as soon as you login you will need to go and change the password to a different one for obvious reasons.

Start to finish time from sending 1st tweet to having my account back was no longer than 10 minutes.

Happy holidays and lets hope the scum dont ruin it again this year.

What I dont understand is SEN must have the serial number IP address etc of the console that hacked the account, I mean I have the PSN ID of the person they used to shareplay FIFA17 with they added them as a friend.

Why would they simply not ban the console?

Oh well only a little milk spilled, lol

Yeah I like the fact that they tracked it so quick for you but don't like the fact that they can still use their console.

It makes no sense at all.

I mean it could have been a lot worse, they could have totally screwed up my account insulted all my friends etc but they would have known that wasn't me, nobody gives an insult quite like me. lol

Make sure to turn on two factor authentication so you need your phone to login to anywhere. I turned mine on right after I was getting emails from Sony for suspicious activity on my account.

They can't just ban the console because i am sure that this person uses a tool  etc CCAPI  (CCAPI is a software that establishes a connection between your ps3 and another device such as your computer or your smartphone you can control your ps3 with it).

With such tool you can modify your console IDPS (console id) and PSID (your account id)...

So if he uses another IDPS of a really working console ...this console will be banned and not him!!!!!!!

If he understand that this IDPS banned he just uses another.
