Problem finding a match in iw

Venom

Recommended Posts

Hi:)

I can barely find any lobbies in cod iw.

It s saying "searching for a match" for ages.

I have preety normal settings: strict, distance:1km, PA: 0

I had those settings in bo3 and had no problem, but since IW i cant properly play

It even show that there are plenty of hosts in my area

Hey, welcome to the forum! First of all, what country are you located in? The servers for IW seem to be a bit haphazard at the minute; the game will likely want to put you in a dedicated server but there might be none in your area. It's something they certainly need to fix; their servers are too sparse as it goes.

Check if you've got an open NAT and try increasing your radius to include the nearest dedicated server; or try turning strict off and using the ping assist at 60ms.

Thanks for the quick respond. Im from austria very close to italy. Since i dont want to play against germans i set my location to italy which isnt usually problematic at all. My nat is open and turning off strict mode doesnt change anything

I think unfortunately a lot of people might have to increase their radius, since their servers seem harder to connect to than Black ops 3. Try increasing it a little at a time or using a different profile.

Also try doing a network diagnostics test to find out what your base ping is. This could be affecting the ping assist feature.

I'm in the UK and constantly getting French, German, Austrian, Dutch, Italian, Irish, etc.

I don't think you can be too picky at the moment, so as Jack said, you should widen the geo filter if you want to get games.

Hey guys

What works for me is to leave Geofilter off

Find out what server the game puts you on

Then place home location on top off the server

Restart game with Geofilter turn on strict off

200kl 10ms ping assist

I know the radius is small but they drop so much quicker!!!

Just try it and let me know how it goes

Ping assist and strict should be off in infinite warfare. If it's on you will be kicked out of lobby regularly. Seems only distance works which makes netduma pointless. Since ping is king. Throttling makes no difference either. Seems cod royally fucked us or netduma is at fault.... Who to blame. No answer why we can't use ping assist or cod ultimate on infinite warfare...

Ping assist may not work as well because you have to connect to two different hosts - P2P first then Dedicated server so if the dedi is outside your PA limit it would be blocked.

As long as you have some dedicated servers in your radius you should be good to go.

On IW my NAT type switches from open to moderate. How do I maintain an open nat?

I can have my geo filter set to 111 miles and P.A. set to 15ms

It will put me in and out of lobbies until I find a P2P host that is connecting to the california dedi which is 60-70 miles from me.

I have stricked on as well, patience is key

Give your console a static IP in DHCP lease and then manually port forward & disable UPnP.

You should just be able to force that. Have the map completely clear, Geo set how you want and boot up the game and search. Shouldn't take long to get it.  I forced multiple different servers in the EU doing that.
