Netduma still crippling my speed

Recommended Posts

This is a follow up from my previous post found here - http://forum.netduma.com/topic/17524-half-speed-all-of-a-sudden-via-netduma/

Hey,

A couple of days ago netduma started dropping the wifi connection which required a restart to fix, then yesterday I noticed that my speed had halved from 18mb to 9mb. I've already tested the speed via the BT hub alone and it's completely fine. I noticed that my firmware was on 1.03.2 so I upgraded to 103.5 and then 103.6 to no avail. I've also tried all the solutions on these forums like setting reactive, disabling ipv6, enabling turbo, different port and so on.

Whenever I suffered from slow speeds via netduma before I would just go to Set Bandwidth and notice that my settings in there had reset, so I would simply change them to full speed again and it would work. Something tells me this part is not functioning correctly now as I'm still getting half the speed with the proper bandwidth set.

Thanks

So basically it's the same story as before but this time whenever I manage to achieve my full speed via netduma it won't even last a day until it drops down again. I've fixed my speed about 4 times now but for whatever reason it just won't hold this time(yes I have cookies checked). Please don't link me to any of your guides or copy and paste any troubleshooting stuff, because as you can see from my previous post, I've tried every single combination that there is including following all guides.

To be brutally honest here, netduma always comes to haunt me every few months or so with a dead connection followed by slow speeds, but now it's everyday and the only reason I haven't switched to my ISP router is because of the price tag of netduma, I really grudge putting it on the shelf having paid that much for it.

As you can see I'm at the end of my wit here and growing very very tired of the constant issues, I'm just looking for a stable and consistent connection granting my full speed which my ISP router does without any problem. Also, when I last posted a few months ago I noticed that this section was flooded with posts of similar issues and it isn't any different this time around so I believe there is some kind of internal issue here with the firmware possibly.

So to reiterate, I've exhausted all solutions and guides to fixing my problem and I'm looking for new advice and help!

Thanks

Seems as though you have exhausted all your options.  I would recommend setting up a 1-on-1 with Fraser if possible before requesting a replacement product or requesting a refund. If you haven't already that is.

It certainly doesn't seem to be functioning correctly; and whilst it is very likely due to upgrading incorrectly, we'll take a look and see if there's anything we can do. Please make a post in the 1 on 1 section, we'll be happy to check it out - and if we can't fix it ourselves we can see about replacing your Netduma.

Thanks

did you do the upgrading on your own? If you were on 1.3.2 and you did this yourself then that could be the issue as wwith a version so low netduma need to do that for you.

Judging by the last post, it looks like you've tried setting it up for your speeds before - and so long as you followed the guide it's reasonable to say your settings aren't the problem. Something's likely gone wrong in the updating since you did it manually from a very low firmware version, but I'll get Frasers opinion when he's in the office tomorrow.

The reason I decided to upgrade the firmware before was due to the dead connections and speed drops but I certainly followed the guides for upgrading the firmware. It's been fine for a few months from when I last posted and upgraded the firmware, usually when it acts up and I manage to fix the speed and connection it will last for another few months before the connection dies again etc. So it definitely was an underlying issue before the upgrade.

I will cycle through the usual combinations of troubleshooting until I fix the speed again and I'll report back tomorrow and see if it has lasted the night.

I upgraded to 3.5 then 3.6 with the problem persisting before and after. I managed to fix the speed shortly after I posted on here in July and it has been fine until now.

Alright, after multiple reboots, factory resets, tweaking settings, you name it, I got full speed via netduma again but as I previously said I will report back tomorrow to see if it lasts.
