lthoma89
Just to clarify, using ping assist will make sure that only my connection to the host is around the ping assist I have set? Or does it connect me to a lobby where the average ping is the ping assist value I set?
maazsk97
Ping assist will make sure that only you get a ping under or equal to the ping value you have set.

iAmMoDBoX
what would you say it's a good ping value for gaming? Depends on the game, but under 30 should be good
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 1, 2016 Administrators Share Posted August 1, 2016 As above, will get you hosts under the limit that are outside your radius. You could still connect to higher ping hosts inside your radius.
lthoma89
Ok I was testing something last night playing bo3. I live in GA (US) but I've set my location to the Chicago area to cover the server there. I had ping assist off but continously noticed the amount the amount of laggy games and players. So I decided to turn the ping assist on to around 50 (which is my ping to that server anyway). I noticed more players were in constant 4 bars and the games felt a little better. This was also over the double xp fracture weekend. So I assumed that the netduma found me lobbies where the average ping was 50. Honestly I've had a better gameplay experience playing in lobbies with a 50-60 ping rather than the server next to me with a 25 ping. I have learned which servers to avoid in the US (basically all east coast servers) and which to play on. The great thing about the duma is the ability to shop for servers.I will continue to test throughout the week to see if this PA helps my experience. That is great that you have found a process that is working well For ping assist work out your base ping and add say 10ms on top and then you would connect to that host/server if it was outside your geo inside your geo the host could have any ping. Using the cod ultimate profile and setting the assist will result in only server/hosts at the ping you set as you are effectively turning the geo off and searching via ping time. lthoma89
Thanks Zennon! My cod experience has been horrible since I started in bo2. Ghost had a great connection for me but it was so bland, which is why I ultimately stopped playing it. Since infinity ward is making the next cod, I hope mw2 has a great connection as well. Forget infinite warfare lol.

I play all the older cods on 360 from mw to bops and they all play spot on with the geo-filter over the UK only.
TEH BUTCHER
Since ping is king many people suggest putting your geofliter as small as possible on the slider and then setting ping assist where you want it to be. This will mean you're basically only connecting based on ping.
