Battlefield 4 PS4 help

Recommended Posts

I can confirm it doesn't work with battlefield 4, I mean it's the exact same as my router my isp gave me, I don't feel a difference at all and I'm pumping half a mag into people and they just look at me and kill me like it's nothing. Can I get a refund please as its not worth £150 unless I'm playing COD or destiny.

You need to email [email protected] regarding refunds. What was your ping to the server when you were having that problem?

Ping to the server was between 15-35, i get these pings on all EU servers on BF4, but thats not the problem, the problem is HIT DETECTION because its in consistent just like my old isp router so i thought with net duma it would be consistent but it isnt. in BF4  ping doesnt mean anything, it all about hit detection because u can have 10 ping and bad hit reg and over 100 ping but always 4 shot kills ..

Are you using the Geo-filter to get those EU servers? If so you will be getting them more consistently with the duma. If you're getting a low ping like that then it is doing it's job.

Are you also using congestion control & hyper traffic?

All devices should be connected to the R1. 70/70 anti-flood with console in hyper traffic.

OK so i have virgin media 200/12, i did a network test on net duma and get exceptional on spikes and good on everything else. My ping is low on the BF4 EU servers which i find using the server browser. They have been low even on my ISP router. My problem is hit detection which was inconsistent on my ISP router and it feels the EXACT same on the net duma, not even 1% different. I got my PS4 on hyper traffic and im using congestion control which in my opinion doesn't even matter because when i set it to 5% i get same hit detection to when i set it to 85% so thats pointless. Got 75/75 on anti flood but tried different numbers but they make no changes. i just need good hit detection on BF4, ive tried everything. in BF4 ping doesnt even matter, u can have 100 ping and kill in 4 bullets and have 15 ping and shoot whole mags into people and they just sponge ! I just got this router for BF4 and it doesnt work, all i see on the forums is about cod and destiny etc and how good the geo filter is ( useless in BF4 because of server browser ) so for BF4 this router isnt all that special and thats the game i play lol.

Here are the results ..

Hi Slayer,

We need to see a longer pingplotter graph than that, that's only 1 minute of data.

Really we need to see an a couple of hours of peak time (like 6-9pm) while people are not hammering your home network.

When you run it again then right click on the graph and you can select a different time-scale for the graph(.

We're looking for issues that is beyond the control of the router.

It does seem to me that you get a little bit of packet loss with a few spikes here and there which could be causing your issues. Zennon is the forum guru when it comes to ping plotter so would wait to see what he advises but I would suggest showing this to your internet provider and seeing if they can improve on it.

There is 4% packet loss on the last hop which is the destination hop which shows you have packet loss.

Jitter or packet loss are a major factor in making games unplayable

I would run some more tests peak and off peak some to bbc.co.uk some to twitter.com.

You could send them to Virgin but cable has an inherent problem with jitter my suggestion is to move to fibre obviously you this is just my opinion.

Hopefully some other Virgin users that have moved to fibre will comment.
