Ping plotter question

Just wondering but should all bandwidth control settings be disabled on your network when running PP or does it not make a difference?

Keep it all at 100 anti-flood, reset device prio and make sure nothing is using the internet when you're running the plotter.

As Fraser said above, make sure your running PP on a quite network. If you try running it while others are on your network, your gonna have a long frustrating day... ;)

Just checking because i have 2 lots of bandwidth control on my network (my Netduma and my Asus router) and when running PP ONLY at 0.5sec intervals i get roughly 40% PL on both routers but everything else is gd, final destination etc (Already made separate thread about this issue) Any ideas what is causing said PL? does any one else have this issue? Thanks for your time.

What carrier?

Some of the UK guys, mostly Zennon, were talking that a configuration in the BT (I think) backbone that can cause problems.

They also have been experiencing bad test cases when pinging Google from the UK, but were seeing better, more accurate readings with Twitter and another site I don't remember.  Amazon UK maybe?

Yes twitter.com and bbc.co.uk as 8.8.8.8 is having issues at the moment.

Im with plusnet so pretty much BT. Yeh i know about the google issue, think i brought it up in a thread  ;) I just want to make sure i havent got a prob on my setup. i have upgraded all my cables btw. like i said i am only getting packet loss (just on my routers) when running PP on 0.5sec speed intervals. Everything else is as it should be when testing normally. any hardware components i could look at? modem or faceplate maybe?

Can you run the tests a little slower than that and see if you experience the same please.

I found that at smaller intervals I saw packet loss sometimes but never at 2 second intervals - perhaps a ping plotter bug

Guys i appreciate the replies but please read my posts carefully as i dont want to waste your time or mine, not everybody on here needs to be babysat lol. When i run PP on default i DONT get any packet loss its ONLY when i run PP at 0.5sec intervals that this issue arises. If this is nothing to worry about then great problem solved.

I already told you that I see packet loss when set to smaller intervals but not at two second intervals.

Please read my replies carefully ;)
