Firstly, let me start of by saying I love the R3 and it's features, now I'm not sure if it's because it's my first ever "gaming" router and all the features are new to me or the fact they are actually good.
However, I feel like they're not working properly at all. The last few days, I've had to reset the router every day to simply access the OS. The last few days I've had to reset the router 2-3 times a day before it feels like it restricts my internet speed to below 100 MBps, even though on average I get 500-550.
I've tried various things, including a full factory reset of the R3, re installing firmware ect and it hasn't stopped it from happening.
It's unfortunate that I've actually been looking at other gaming routers, because this doesn't seem to be living up to the hype, I bought the product to use features announced at launch and are still not here.

Kage79 reacted to spacialrend in This product is in beta idk who thought it was ok to release
Basic functionality is important, if I can't use the router on a wired connection for more than 30 mins without it disconnecting, what's the point?
Not to mention, on wifi webpages take ages to load despite having 300 up/down. C'mon guys, you can't charge $200 for something like this that doesn't even work properly. We need an update ASAP.

Yes you should have.... Do they think that this is some kindof kickstarer campaign or something? They sell a full priced product that they advertise as being a finished product and then when the features don't work, they say, "just turn that feature off it is negatively impacting this other feature and turn the other feature off as well and turn off the wifi because it is also not working and stop reporting problems in the support forum because there are too many of them right now......

It is interesting to read these last two posts, because I just yesterday disconnected my R3. I am using a different router now and will continue to check back on these forum posts because I am a part of this club and I paid my $200 entry fee to join this club and I have my router shaped paperweight as proof that I am a part of this club! I live in the US and it wouldn't be worth my time to try to get a refund. I think the r in R3 stands for Regret. I am Rand0 and I am a member of the regret club! Keep smiling lads 😁

Been lurking here for a bit every now and then for a firmware update, just to let you guys at DumaOS this is borderline fraud. You should put a well detailed disclaimer somewhere visible on your main page that this is a Alpha/Beta product and all features may or may not function correctly. I've ordered another router and ill box this up and check back next year and to the people that are saying "bro lol just wait more its a small team they will fix it" I just don't understand you.
Peace All!

Almost 5 months since released. That is too long to have "patience" on issues which should have been resolved before it was even released. They shouldnt need to be fixing so many issues after release!

Kage79 reacted to DanologyUK in This is getting absurd
You do realise this is the THIRD router they have released and look at how the release has gone so far for this? Doesn't look like theyve learnt any lessons from the past 2 releases.
You wouldnt go and build a house if you didnt know how to lay bricks, do the wiring, install the windows etc etc, so why are they releasing stuff like this if they dont know how to fix it?
Basically Netduma got too greedy and wanted to release before Christmas in a broken state and then fix forward which is a poor excuse. The router has been out for almost 5 months and look at all the issues still being experienced. The issues are basic functions of any router as well so nothing specialised.

I'm guessing that it gets a whole lot longer before the firmware update is released and then I think it is going to be more of the same disappointment. I have done a bit of searching and it seems that duma os is just always fraught with problems. It seems that they move on to "newer and better" ideas without ever having delivered on the old promised ideas. I bought this because I has nothing by problems with netgear routers with duma os on them. I figured that maybe it was simply because I needed a net duma router with the duma os on it...... I couldn't have been more wrong. Saving up my money and doing some research to get a router that works well.

First and foremost thank you for the detailed reply. I don't have enough time in the day to sift through all the threads to find updates.
Pin this and make it a running thread that only you can update, title it "Read first latest firmware update post" sure there will still be people who don't read it but the majority of us come here every morning looking for status updates and then get frustrated, pissed off and go about resetting the router to look for updates the next day. If you click on the links in the forum for firmware updates, let's just say there are none that are recent.
On the list above tell us what the Dev's have solved and still working on so we know where they stand. I know for myself that if I came here this morning and saw this post that you have here at the top of the forum and see that 6/7 out of 10 are completed then I would get an idea of where things are and think to myself "getting closer" instead of "WTF are they even doing on a daily basis" which is mine and I'm sure others thoughts. I work as a project manager and I send out weekly updates to the team on where we stand on progression if it's a major development project, daily if it's on a smaller scale. We just want to be kept in the loop, I don't need a hard date especially if it won't be hit but definitely want to know how things are going.
Also, change the verbiage to "why it's taking longer" since it's not released as of yet.
Again, this is all just my thoughts and opinions on how to make yours and everyone else's life a little easier.

I normally don't like to girl dog and moan yet here I am. Give us a status report, I am sure your project manager for the dev team has some idea of when things should be completed. Do you even have a project manager?
What's been fixed?
What is still being worked on?
Why the hell is it taking so long?
All we get is "not giving ETA" "will be fixed in the next release" "we know what the problem is and will be fixed in the next release"
So I am very confused, how much time per day is being dedicated to fixing this mediocre router that I can only use one feature and that works 50% of the time.

Kage79 reacted to rvndo in This router has actually SAVED me money!!!!!
Yes. The irony, is the only current value of the purchase right now for me. If I don't have a sense of humor about it I just feel bad. It was rushed and unfinished and the company is unwilling to admit that. Poor Fraser is left to have all these people vent in this forum. The added pain is that the advertising never mentions that this is cutting edge attempts at a technology that Net Duma "hopes will one day work". They have yet to accomplish it. AND when the router works as hoped and advertised, its only in a limited way and it is not even repeatable. So many posts by people who are asking, "why did it stop working the same when I changed nothing?"
AND the advertisements never clue the buyer into the fact that a minimum of a 101 college level knowledge of networking is needed to even begin to understand what the router is "trying" to do and how you have to constantly adjust it for it ever to work as hoped. It all comes down to false advertising and people who bought the product are still holding on to hope that it someday may work as advertised.....

Kage79 reacted to ChrisG82 in This router has actually SAVED me money!!!!!
That's sarcasm, right? WiFi is not a new technology and yet the R3 has massive bugs there. Routers themselves have been around for decades and yet the R3 has bugs in standard functions.
I think that far fewer people would be writing here if bugs were only present in functions that make the R3 truly unique, such as the geofilter, the ping optimiser and so on. However, the R3 currently also has problems with simple standard functions that have existed with every other manufacturer for decades.
Nobody here wants to badmouth the R3. But unfortunately, Netduma really wanted to have the R3 on the market before the 2023 Christmas season. I think it would have done the R3 more than good to simply delay the market launch by six months in order to eliminate the aforementioned bugs or finalise the advertised features so that they are actually available on release...

Kage79 reacted to Freebandzz in It's been almost two months since the last update. When can we expect fixes for issues, we are all struggling with?
With all the problems for the r3 and me getting a 60 percent packet loss for over a week and I had my internet checked and Xbox live side both are working great so I finally went back to the r2 and boom no problems and that packet loss went away never to be seen again I will stay on the r2 intill one day they come with a new r3 update 🤞

I second this.. only issue I experience is random drop outs every few hours other than that the router is perfectly fine for me

Most of the issues aren’t experienced by most users, just an isolated few.…………………………….. is what I gather from the reps here.

Kage79 reacted to DanologyUK in Timelines?
A lot of the "issues" posted on here, are not because of different ISPs though. A lot of the issues are down to the base software on the router not functioning. Look at the DHCP issues listed. This is basic function of even a $30 router but yet Netduma cant get this right so why should be trust them to fix all the other functions not working correctly?
This router was released way too early with way too many bugs that their QC team either haven't spotted or simply ignored so they could release the router before Christmas.
I totally get if their own "Netduma" functions need tweaks but the faults you can see all over the forums are more than this.
I know Netduma want to take their time to fix all of these issues but answer this... why didnt they take their time to test and discover these issues and then fix these issues before releasing this? No where on the purchasing screen did it advise all of the current consumers of the R3 will be beta testing the router for them, having to provide logs for them, having to switch off functions for the router to work.

The other issue is the lack of transparency. Netduma as a company really did a poor job on the launch of this product. To this day no one on the Netduma leadership team has acknowledged the issues. Fraser takes care of it on these forums. It’s as if in their mind this is Ok. The R3 video’s hype’s this product to a huge extent. The company spent more effort on the video’s then the product itself. The R2 launch was much more successful.
