Netduma Justas got a reaction from Rick- in NEW XR1000/XR1000v2 Beta Firmware: DumaOS 3.3.688 Access Request
Hello to all XR1000 and XR1000v2 users!
We're finally ready with a new DumaOS update for XR1000 and XR1000v2.
This update introduces updates and fixes for our DPI cloud synchronisation. Users will now receive our latest DPI database versions as soon as they're released. This means support for new games in Geo-Filter, Traffic Prio and Traffic Controller. You'll see new titles like Marvel Rivals are supported in Geo-Filter, and new titles like Path of Exile 2 are supported in Traffic Prioritisation.
We've also fixed the issue from the previous version where there were no default lists in Adblocker. Now you can begin blocking ads straight away with the click of a button, and the lists will update automatically over time.
There are also some backend fixes, including security improvements.
This firmware was created to fix any lingering bugs with the feature set of the XR1000, and deliver on all of the features promised when the XR1000 was sold. However it does not introduce any of the exciting new features from DumaOS 4, such as SmartBOOST and Geo-Filter 2.0. For the time being, these features are exclusive to the Netduma R3 gaming router, and we can make no promise that they'll make their way to the XR1000.
That said, XR1000 users will continue to receive updates for compatibility with the latest games via Netduma's DPI cloud, and security updates will be provided by Netgear.

You guys absolutely fkin KILLED it with 4.0.540. Not sure if something was also done on Spectrum's end, but my avg latency dropped from upper 20s and mid 30s to the high teens and it's a stutter-free as ever! 500d/20u plan.
I'm running an Edgerouter 4 from the modem, which handles the main QOS. As you can see, it's playing exceptionally well with my Smartboost priorities on the R3. I've been running this since it was an official update. My wifi is more stable than its ever been as well. No dropouts on wifi or ethernet either. I don't think I'm moving from this FW. Kudos, team.

Netduma Justas reacted to Aimz in Netduma r3 is the best gaming router!
This isnāt a support post, this is just a post from a hardcore call of duty ranked player giving my honest review of the router. Because ive been seeing soooo much negativity about this router.
Ive been playing ranked play on call of duty modern warfare 3 on pc for about 8 hours a day. I can honestly say the netduma r3 melts my enemies. Iāve tried multiple different routers so I know how each router feels when youāre playing competitively when every millisecond counts! Iāve tried Openwrt, Ubiquiti, Arista, Mikrotik, Pfsense and Asus ROG routers. They all do very good A+ 0ms bufferbloat with QOS. BUT the problem with those routers is the hit detection / lag comp. Where you clearly see the enemy and shoot them first and you die first. Itās like you shoot nerf bullets and they just INSTA DELETE you!
I donāt know how netduma does it but this router is manipulating the lag comp / hit detection to give you a advantage. I mean theres still some moments when Iām like how did I lose that gunfight but itās ALOT less compared to those other routers.
The latest firmware still has some bugs that Iām sure is going to be fixed.. but the firmware is more than playable for me
Anyone else feels this way or its only me?

Netduma Justas reacted to Netduma Luke in Ten Years of Netduma
Ten years ago today, we launched Netduma.
When youāre in a startup, you spend most of your time looking forward. Rarely, if ever, do you look back. Learn from your mistakes, donāt dwell on them, keep improving.
But today, we want to pause for a moment. It has been a decade, after all.
The Beginning
We launched Netduma from Iainās parents' kitchen. Our website had just gone live, selling the Netduma R1āour first router. It was no wallflower. Frankly, it looked a bit like a fire alarm, only had 2.4GHz WiFi, but the software Iain had built was unlike anything else out there.
We sold out of those first R1s almost instantly. The e-commerce site Iainās dad had hurriedly put together held up well. Our logistics process? Not so much. That led to many all-nighters as we worked through the order backlog.
When youāre a startup, itās impossible to be good at everything. But to make it, you need to be exceptional at one or two things. We had two. As gamers, we knew firsthand how much lag sucks. And with Iainās brain, we could actually do something about it.
Soon after, we moved into our first office (to the relief of Iainās parents, whose house had begun to resemble a factory floor). We hired our first full-time employees. Word spread about what our software could do.
Bit by bit, month by month, we levelled up. We improved our software. We grew our team. We made mistakes. We learned from them. We kept going. And we repeated that over and over.
The very first Netduma office.
Looking Ahead
Fast forward to today. Our tech stack has evolved from fixing lag in games to fixing all bad Internet - for work calls, video streaming, and everything else. Weāre partnered with British Telecom, Telstra, NETGEAR, Nokia, Genexis, and Mercku, with more partnerships to announce next year. Just a few weeks ago, our Service Provider business won the Scale-Up of Network X award.
Weāve got a great team, great customers, and great support around us. And weāve managed to do all this without any investment, putting every penny we made back into R&D to make new features (more on that further down).
If youāre reading this, youāve likely been part of the journey. Whether it was buying one (or all!) of our routers, helping on the forum, or telling us how we could improve - youāve made a difference. Every piece of feedback, the good and the bad, has helped shape who we are today.
None of this would have been possible without the support weāve had along the way.
Thank you.
But hereās the exciting part: weāre just getting started.
For the past few years, weāve been working on two groundbreaking features. When we first envisioned them, we werenāt sure theyād even be possible. One fixes bufferbloat once and for all, with no downsides. The other pinpoints the root causes of poor Internet performance, whenever they occur. These features are set to shake up the industry and will be announced early next year.
While itās great to look back on the past ten years, weāre even more excited about whatās ahead. A huge thank you to our elite team in Cambridge, our incredible partners, and everyone who has supported us along the way.
Thank you,
Luke, Iain, and the entire Netduma Team
P.S. If you havenāt yet bought our award-winning Netduma R3 router, which runs the very latest Netduma software, you can use the code ā10Yearsā for 10% offāthis week only.
