XR1000 ANTICIPATED FIXES & ADDITIONS
DARKNESS replied to DARKNESS's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
@Netduma FraserDoesn't seem like I am the only one who's had this issue from my research I found some links related to this same issue...I am just putting out there just to let you know of the issue found on this particular case https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-Routers/xr1000-not-limiting-upload-to-device/td-p/2236260 https://forum.netduma.com/topic/39774-xr1000-bandwidth-allocation-limiting-upload-speed-not-working/ https://www.reddit.com/r/NETGEAR/comments/11ln1s2/my_experience_with_xr1000_after_using_it_for_a/?rdt=39816 -
Feel the same way I think it'd be more efficient if there was a road map showcasing what expected to be added and for it to be focused on one router at a time instead of several at a time as such every firmware should be more stable since it has all the focus put into it.

@gearsniper550Are you losing internet from the modem or router? If it from the router it might be the dhcp you can refresh it by clicking save and you should regain access you can also increase dhcp hours so it doesn't occur often it this is the issue in your case. Though I would give a log as it helps understand the issue more clearly in certain cases.

@l2eactionz As for the first question your findings will be shown of whether maxing your mtu is the cause of your affect or not that the reason you need to max out the mtu in the settings in order for you to see all different size packets fragments etc That depend whether your ISP is using dhcp or ppoe you've stated before you were using DHCP so you don't need to subtract 28-8 you actually add 28 to whatever you found to be your mtu optimal in the router As for PPOE it a bit different I am not technical using the ppoe so your going to have to search the differences and there are certain mtu depending in your area that can go higher than 1500 though that is extremely rare I used this for my guide it may differ but I think it explain it better than I would https://www.dwthacker.com/finding-and-setting-mtu-on-mac

@SSWaltersIIDo you have the ad block list? I would assume you do not if so add it manually since as of currently that the only method currently waiting for next firmware to see whether it included but as of now it not added automatically. There a link below which should show you how to set it up https://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000133055-using-adblocker-on-xr1000

@l2eactionz I would firstly figure out if it an ISP/line issue by using a tool called ping plotter or using an alternative that diagnoses the network https://www.pingplotter.com/ As for MTU if you believe it maybe causing issues here short vid on how to find the optimal mtu https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2rOWgGuHBo Set up qos properly it not going to be the exact same from your original qos you have to set it manually and find what gives you the least buffer

@Netduma FraserThis a list of the fixes and features I hope to see on the next firmware I already know they're a beta in the works so this can be something that already being worked upon though couldn't say so as for the features and fixes I'll separate them into two sections. Features hope to see included Hybrid VPN Cloud DPI synchronization - with all routers that are supported not just the the R2 getting cloud DPI updates first ---- I do believe this is something that already done in the works Mobile Browser Interference same as the R2 it something that missing on XR1000 Bug Fixes Bandwidth Allocation - Not applied properly disables qos rules by activation Device Manager - Is slow to update devices that are currently active in certain occasions Dumaos App - UI bug only found on the XR1000 polygon mode not appearing Ad blocker Missing List - I know you can add them manually though it should be there it shouldn't be something you should have to search up to add the list when it not required in the other routers that are supported -
@Satan1976That is obviously fake maybe in cold war or MW with they're infested bugs though that wouldn't be something that a router could do and it more to do with activision most likely having vulnerabilities which are exploited by users and it wouldn't be a surprise when there cheaters in all of there games and they claim that they're anti cheat system is sooooo gooodddd yeah maybe in heaven 😂
