  1. what the day when we dont get another useless thread asking when the update is coming?
  2. All of them @justin peryea I would imagine. I'm getting same as you, upload off, download ok. Have been told in past its a PPOE related and they will try to get speeds higher. I don't think its cable or service but could be a factor for some. My XR500 never managed to get the proper speeds either with connection direct to the ONT
  3. No but it would be nice to have the game traffic prioritised. My bad its already been requested to be added. Also as an aside I was having issues connecting with other players but that was resolved with port forwarding as UPNP is not working for me. This post can be closed.
  4. No but it would be nice to have the game traffic prioritised. I will add to that list, thanks. Also as an aside I was having issues connecting with other players but that was resolved with port forwarding as UPNP is not working for me.
  5. Can this be added to geofilter and smartboost?
  6. Really sorry you guys are still having issues with getting connected outside the geofilter. Just a couple of things you may want to try, ignore if you've already considered them: Are you using polygon to mark out your server area? Are you sure that there is a server to connect to within the boundary you set? I notice that on some games the local server is not always available and it will go outside the geo fence. Also SBMM employed on games like Destiny 2 and MW3 will connect you servers outside the geofence if there are not enough players connected to servers within the area to connect to. Definitely turn off Geo Latency if haven't already. This helped greatly for me. If you still have issues I am sure the guys will get it fixed soon.
  7. The R3 wont help get round SBMM. It will get you connected to your nearest servers but will not stop SBMM being employed by the game developer.
  8. Its really quite easy with wifi power line adapter. Just plug it into your wall sockets, its going to be more reliable than wifi for gaming. I only use wifi for phones etc and a playstation that is near enough to avoid dropouts. Also have your R3 as high up as you can and place it away from other electrical equipment.
  9. I'm with @x12Tyler on this, I can't see why there are so many issues with geofilter. On latest version with geo latency off and a polygon drawn around my nearest servers it always connects to one of them. As i've said before I think some of these issues are with the game developers, VPN use, matchmaking within the game for example will trump any router settings. I can connect to my local server but I can't stop other players connecting to that server too. You need to set a filter per device, per game as I understand it and ideally have only one activated (maybe). Resync the cloud from time to time and if you make any changes to the Geofilter close down your games first and then restart after you have made the changes. If steady ping adds too much ping then turn it off. But if you are connecting to your nearest server this shouldnt be an issue, or use expert mode to limit how much ping is increased if that works better.
  10. Condescending maybe not, rude and disrespectful most definitely yes. We may disagree on some points but please lets be respectful for other viewpoints even if we don't agree. Makes for a more pleasant forum experience.
  11. Not sure if this has been mentioned before but I can't find the user manual for the R3 anywhere. Does one exist? would be great to have a resource to find out more details about what each of the options / settings do on the R3 rather than try to figure out via the forum posts. Would cut down the number of forum posts.
  12. I might be wrong here but I would say you only need to prioritise the minimum so that your gaming traffic is picked up for priority. I have my PC set as the device and then Destiny and Cod for activities. I can see the game traffic prioritised ok so don't see need for gaming activity. Maybe even just the device is adequate.....anybody confirm? Makes a difference?
  13. I was just referring to your comment that you wont get BB if your bandwidth is not saturated. I have minimal to no traffic when I am gaming and more than enough bandwidth but if I don't lower my CC settings for DL and UP I don't get an A+ BB score.
  14. Just to mention the R3 does a great job of getting you connected to your nearest server, getting you a stable ping and eliminating bufferbloat for most people's setups. What it can't do much about is the crappy matchmaking that some of these games employ and SBMM. For example in Destiny 2 PVP I will join to the London or Amsterdam server with a good steady ping but then Steam goes and matches me in a game with players from China, Russia and Middle East (i'm in UK). Its players using VPN's and cheaters that often ruin what would be a good gaming experience. If the designated host is miles away it doesn't really matter how good my connection is to London, I will always be at a disadvantage. So I guess my point is that I don't think the R3 or any gaming router for that matter can eliminate 'all' our gaming woes but it does a good job of giving you the best experience possible, despite Steam and Activision's best endeavours to do the contrary.
  15. Correct and the red dot is your home location. White dots are servers that have players in your current game.
  16. There is a legend for that screen that confirms what all the icons mean.
  17. Then why do I get bufferbloat when only my PC is using bandwidth, say in the evening, and I have CC off. I just set it to 50/50 these days as guarantees no bufferbloat.
  18. This happened once to me when you have a space in rule name. Try without space (rule1), may resolve the issue.
  19. I had'nt thought to try out PO with this new version until earlier this evening and it worked great got ping for Up and DL down to under 10. The Geofilter has also been working excellent this evening and had some of the best gaming I have ever had this evening. If the wifi signal can be made stronger and get the speeds up then the R3 is seriously living up to my expectations.
  20. Not for me unfortunately, I think PPoE speed issues are being looked into separately. This build was for GF and PO I believe.
  21. Ok so quick update I restarted R3 and tried another game of Destiny. Connected to London host and only Amsterdam was allowed. Connection to London stabilised too. Can I expect this all the time? Also MW3 was a great connection always connected to London with reasonable ping even with PO set to simple. I think this version has improved GF and PO for me anyways.
  22. Hi, tried new 0.41 and gaming a little bit on it. Hit detection seemed pretty good still. I still have A+ BB score but did notice jitter was slightly higher than normal (2ms). Also the mean ping was great (6ms) but max ping was greater 20 on download and 40 on upload. Not sure how much this translates to gaming to notice. Had some questions on Geofilter and stable ping if someone can answer so I know I have my expectations correct. So for games that use peer to peer connections for PVP arranged by Steam matchmaking I can nearly always get connected to the London server which is great. But: 1. Can Geofilter stop servers outside its range being selected as part of the matchmaking or is that unable to be bypassed. I currently see servers showing as white dots outside the geofence area. I have denied access to most of these servers, allowing only French and Dutch servers. 2. Stable ping has worked a couple of times for peer to peer PVP games like Destiny 2, but is that only when I am lucky enough to be the host? or can stable ping work on all the other peer to peer connections. Settings are: Geofilter (strict ON, Geolatency ON, ping assist OFF) Steady Ping On (Simple mode) Geofence around the UK only. Hope that makes sense. Cheers
  23. @Netduma Alex do you recommend a factory reset after upgrading from .40?
  24. Ok so if SB is off CC is off too yeah?
  25. Ok so that's weird with SB off and running speedtest.net I get nearer my download speeds (near 800) but the upload speed is down on what I have been getting (370)
