If it helps @Netduma Fraser this is exactly the same setup I have and R3 never manages to record true speed of approx 900 up and down. This is with the R3 speed test or a 3rd party test.

That will be the home setting on the Geofilter page. House icon bottom right.

Hi @Hotchin88, Although the forums may not reflect it, there are a lot of satisfied owners, myself included. Yes there are some issues which some users are facing which are important to them but they will get fixed. For gaming, and lets face it that's what we got the R3 for wasn't it, the experience is awesome now. When it arrives, put release .40 on it, do a factory reset and configure it as you like it. Then try some games out, I'm sure you will like it. If not you have the option to return.

If it helps anyone I'm noticing that when testing bufferbloat multiple times after making changes to the download CC using the waveform website, I needed to clear the browser cache as it was coming back with incorrect results. So basically make a change run the test, make another change > reset cache > run test seemed to work consistently. You may be setting something in CC right or wrong and be getting wrong results. @Netduma Fraser I'm getting an issue with 0.40 whereby some wireless devices are showing up under wired tree in device manager? One example was an echo dot showing under wired. Tried blocking > re enabling, resync and refresh.

I dared to switch on AdBlocker an hour ago after a good solid day of gaming and it didnt affect anything to my knowledge. It was blocking stuff though on my PC.

This won't work if your speeds are not being picked correctly. I tried that and it added BB to my connection so put it back to what it was set to 535 D 830 U and went back to A+. I have 1 gig connection.

On the 5ghz I have mine set to 20mhz as the distance that signal will carry may not be all that great set at 160. Guess its trial and error. A is exceptable but if you can get A+, yeah go for the best.

Yeah there is good evidence that they muck around with your aim, where players spawn etc to 'even' the playing field.

@Spazz are you talking about MW3 servers? If so SBMM is still at work so will account for some of this and crap servers. The performance from the R3 is much better now on MW3 and giving as best connection as possible for me.

Hi @Netduma Fraser, Yes it did lower the UP to around 15 and the DL to around 6-7 in 0.23 and before but bufferbloat score was inconsistent and rarely hit A, let alone A+.

@TheTerpinator710 Have you tried setting the congestion controls for upload and download manually to 70% and then test using Bufferbloat and Internet Speed Test - Waveform to check? I think there is an issue with PO atm potentially but you should be able to get A or A+ buffer bloat score by setting manually so its not such a big issue as long as congestion control is working. Set congestion control to always on and turn off speed test bypass.

@Netduma Fraser yes correct it doesnt get the ping down hardly at all for DL and UL. Tbh i'm geting A+ setting manually 70/70 so its not be a big issue for me, but will be to others I guess. Be interested to hear on updates to get speeds up on PPPoE as this has been an issue with XR500 too. But seriously, great job on latest version its ticking a lot of boxes. I'm seeing active port forwarding, A+ BB, GF working and SP prioritising so very happy.

@Netduma Fraser no unfortunately not rebooted ONT and R3 and PO runs but can only gets it down to 65 UP and 28 DL which is not right. Also PO won't run unless SB is running? I set CC manually 70/70 and getting A+ BB score so PO is off. Happy to help out with further testing on this to pinpoint issue. I get my usual speeds if I connect my Eero 6 pro directly to the ONT. Using the Eero as a bridge does not help. It's definitely that the R£ does not recognise full speeds when PPoE connected directly to the ONT. I have used many other speed tests to double check.

I'd still try yourself @Stanlee as you probably have a different setup to me. I'm going to try reboot again. The speed test is very fluctuating so not ideal. In any case I got the router for its gaming capabilities and its doing ok there atm. The additional bandwidth would be great but not as important to me.

@pyroassI did a factory reset after upgrade and then entered same credentials as before update and it connected fine.

For me 500 D and 800 U . The upload speed is pretty much on the mark but DL nope around half what it should be

Was'nt able to connect for some reason. Only works when I disable smartboost for some reason and then when it runs its unable to get my ping down by much from the loaded rates. I think something is wrong here, for me anyway. I have bypass turned off too. @Netduma Fraser any idea why this might be happening? In any case atm I'm setting 70 up and down manually and getting an A+ Buffer bloat score.

Played a couple of games and can actually compete in MW3. I'm praying it stays the same as performance has been awesome so far for gaming. A couple of things noticed: Update error'd like Spazz reported but did a reboot and it then loaded, also performed FR after upgrade. Geofilering is working great with all default options enabled. Smartboost working great, prioritising devices and games as set. Still only reporting half my speeds. I have Giganet connection with an ONT that connects straight into R3. Also new cat7 cables used. Set up and down CC to 70% as ping optimiser was'nt working. Got an A+ bufferbloat score so very pleased. No issues with CPU spiking. Oh and enabled IPV6 on Lan and Wan, no issues. Thanks to all the Netduma guys for working hard on this update and releasing today.

I would hope so to really as suggestions to factory reset seem to be often at the moment. For those of us with complicated config's it's a total pain. Also people would not mind doing FR as much if it was quick and easy.

Not sure if this has been raised before but any chance we could get an option to backup and re import settings, even if its to a text file? Factory resets are required sometimes and this would really take the pain out of setting everything up again.

We don't know whether its hardware or firmware at the moment do we? Probably best to try firmware first and then if its still not fixed address the hardware. I'm getting CPU spike for example and I'm waiting for the fix for that.
