New firmware destroyed splitting the wifi bands 2.4 literally won't and can't connect to the Internet even though it's fully accessible on WiFi 5ghz and Etherley connect back to 2 and says no Internet connection available.

How has it been a year nearly with unstable firmware.......back to the eero then 😴😴😴

Feels like it should hit detection is perfect never feel like my player is running in sand and don't have to change any settings. You have advance firewall and a new qos feature that works really good automatically don't have to adjust anything manually it just works.....
You still get lag compensation which you truly can't get rid of even when you try and congest your line on the r3.
The only good thing with cod and r3 is the ability to pick a location so you have a higher ping but in all honesty with the eero pro 6 the hit reg is so much better that you don't feel like you need to try anything it just works.
I don't have a congested household so I can't vouch for that but I bet the eero pro 6 qos works better in a family house aswell

    1. There have been some improvements with IPv6 and I would believe some improvements to continue going forward. This also includes, UPnP in parallel with IPv6.
    2. Some users may see steady ping working for them, while others may not.
    3. XDefiant is a favorite that can be added in SmartBoost and the game is detected when playing.
    4. Currently, there is only bandwidth reservation.

Is this due to a factory reset after update and ipv6 would have been re enabled?

When your phone is connected without internet is your tv connected laptop connected any other wireless device connected???? Have you finally turned pppoe off and running dhcp?

I didn't think pppoe was needed when you have a modem. Dhcp should work as the Internet into the home is sorted by the modem and your r3 acts as a dhcp no?

I believe it is the CPU issue you're experiencing, the firmware is due this week and not only will the CPU usage be drastically reduced, the higher ping/jitter caused by it should be resolved as well. As lot of fixes/improvements in this one I believe.

I hope so as I really do like your commitment always been updating firmwares and trying to push things.
And as I always say for the geo filter alone its worth it. Hopefully see the vpn available soon aswell.
But yeah with qos I definitely have to bring my speeds down to benefit from it. Otherwise the random fluctuations in speed at the top end must still be causing the bufferbloat

Just to be clear you will never get the max upload speeds via a ps5 speedtest as the servers are being used all the time. Send a message to a friend speedtest.net and then click the link to open speedtest and run a test that way

After adding to dmz no change to speeds still struggle to hit 900mb down. After a router reboot the first speed test is always the fastest followed by a steady decrease to around 700mb wired.
Also After adding Internet rules allowing all traffic my speed to a dive down to 450mb for whatever reason and as soon as it was disabled shot back up to 700mb

Yeah alots changed with isp locking you to there router most times just an email and password for your pppoe settings and you will be sorted on 1 router/modem

I completely agree something is off. I can't hit a stable speedtest at all with ipv6 disabled qos disabled everything disabled and still get really sporadic test results on xr500 and eero I get 920 930mb every test regardless of time of day or congestion not that there is any I live with my partner no kids and normally tested while she's still at work. This router has a really bad throughput issue and it's making no sense can't play on it it's that bad

as you can see from the photo it is set to 90% in download and upload, also tried 70% but the congestion control is never activated even with the prioritized services

I get where you're coming from and I think it would help, not my decision though and not sure whether the team would be keen on doing that. It also creates a lot of extra working managing two bug lists and also not everyone is on the same firmware so wouldn't apply to everyone etc

Hello. As with alot of people there are already some known issues I.e ipv6 with cc not working. But also I made a post stating upnp doesn't work with cod as it doesn't open port 3074. I've just seen a post regarding ipv6 on wan and lan being disabled made upnp work and after a test its true upnp will open port 3074 if ipv6 is disabled on both.
I'm sure there are other notes fraser has got jotted down of other known issues but if a post was pinned with all known issues and ways to fix/set for the time being it may help clear alot of other posts.

Beta .23 definitely helps keep in the location you have selected. However after a good couple of hours It just randomly stopped working the map showed blank (other than my red circle) no servers and no pingable locations game never searched just stayed at 27ms ping searching.
After a reboot delete ps5 resync and re add. Everything started to work again however servers outside of the location was reading in the steady ping menu bit on the geo screen was connecting to the correct server but never stabilising.

l2eactionz reacted to Zac in Wifi range and performance
Well you might not need 900 MB true but at range speed decreases anyway and my house is bigger so speed scaling matters so I agree with you it is important to get to the bottom of this issue.

For example lets say in one room max speed I can get is 20% of my connection due to distance.

If I had a regular 100mbps and I was getting only 20mbps that would struggle to play some video content in my guest room. However if I have a 1000 mbps and I'm getting 20% that's obviously 200 mbps which would still stream to my 4k tv beautifully.

So I am with L2eactions. If they were able to achieve 900mbps even in a controlled test environment it would be good to know how/ what settings were used as that would indicate a performance ceiling we should all be striving to achieve. Plus being a new release it's important to work out any bugs/ hardware faults.

Unfortunately for me I think as I said my unit is perhaps faulty.

Again I know but it's what was stated as achievable. My eero 6 pro is only wifi6 not 6e and hits 900mb consistently on WiFi if I'm sitting beside it like I have been for the r3

I agree with everything you have said and understand the hz. I get 3 bars in my toilet which is furthest room in the house so range is not an issue and the router with everything disabled and set up the exact same way as the xr500 gaming is the exact same over ethernet so I have no issues in that regard. its just when your told in testing they reached it but every test and reality of the hardware doesn't seem to get close. I want to know what there setup was to achieve it.
