Paulo_81 reacted to DARKNESS in Block PC players
@Paul_81
Cheating is rampant across all platforms—no game is safe. Developers are doing their best to fight back, but cheaters constantly find new ways around anti-cheat systems. One rising method is using SD cards or USB devices to bypass protections—especially on consoles. So let’s be clear: the idea that consoles are “safe” is a myth. Cheaters have already figured out how to slip past detection.
Even worse, retailers are openly selling cheat devices on store shelves. These scripting tools might not modify game code, but that doesn’t make them any less of a cheat. They spoof inputs to create inhuman precision and speed, giving players an unfair edge. Just because it’s hardware-based doesn’t make it legitimate—it’s still cheating.
I’m not naming specific devices here because they don’t need any more attention. But if you know, you know.
The only people who don’t regularly run into cheaters are casual players. If you’re playing at high ranks, it’s a different story. As someone who’s reached Master rank eight times in Apex Legends, I see it every day—DMA cheaters tracking through walls like it's nothing, blatantly obvious. It’s not a “get better” issue—it’s a broken system. And don’t get me started on the input scripters. Some of them even brag about it. They’re not hiding—they’re proud. You can spot them by their tags. Sure, some try to fly under the radar, but it’s obvious if you know what to look for. One group I’ve run into over and over uses the tag “TTOK.” From what I’ve seen, they’re part of a coordinated network. They try to blend in, but their behavior gives them away every time.
I know this sounds like a rant, but honestly—it’s infuriating how bad the cheating situation has gotten

I disabled both security filters, the speeds went to 530MB, very close to the contracted speed!
-
Paulo_81 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Block PC players
Where are you testing the speeds? Is the R2 in the DMZ on your ISP modem/router? Are ALL devices connected to the R2?
If you truly can't get more than 300 and everything is done and set correctly then I'd suggest setting to 300.

Paulo_81 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Block PC players
Ping Assist doesn't rely on it being a player host, it works with servers too
-
Paulo_81 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Block PC players
The game uses dedicated servers so the other players will not appear on the Geo-filter so you can't block them

Is it possible to block PC players on R2, for example, I play COD BO6 on PC, but I would like to connect only to console players?!

Tenho a mesma dúvida no R3, o Youtuber And em seu vídeo a uma semana atrás disse que é possível, mas não disse como fazer.Se alguém souber como fazer no R3.

Paulo_81 reacted to Mostwest in 2 years after the last firmware update...
We were told not to worry that the team would have released the v4 also for R2
How is possible that after 2 full year (March 2023), the V4 stable is still non available for R2. How long are you guys beta testing this thing? for 1-2 years
If it's not ready so be it, but I haven't seen very much commitment to bring the V4 stable on R2 which wasn't cheap.
Forcing people to buy R3 because software features that improves game experience.
Maybe it just an hardware limitation, i'm ok with it, just full transparency...
I wouldn't be upset if you would just say "Hey 3.3 would be the last stable update for R2, if you wish more the R3 is the next step. thank you", rather than "oh we are working on it" beta testing for how many years now??
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I applied for beta testing and the last bets version worked without much troubles delivering a better gaming experience but I can also see people struggling with the firmware and I really feel bad for them because that could have been me.

Paulo_81 reacted to Proud R3 Owner in Rethinking routers
I was reading a post @Netduma Frasermade in early access about not being a hardware company and mentioning latest in tech and limited funding. If you had just a base router with no Wi-Fi (AP's needed) or RGB lighting, you could potentially free up some funds for things like more RAM in the unit that would greatly increase the performance and give the devs a little more headroom for additional features. Just a thought, I think most R3 users probably don't even use the Wi-Fi on the R3.

Paulo_81 reacted to Moofda in Geo Box
A simple router/AP created to piggy back off another Primary router with its main, or maybe sole function, being a geo filter primarily.
I think the overwhelming majority of Netduma users over the years use the router primarily for the geo filter specifically.
If you look at most of the complaints or problems over the last three generations of routers, the majority of the problems stem from basic expectations of routers in general: Disconnection issues, bunk wifi/ether speeds, qos failures, ipv6 failures, etc, (there are many).
However, not as many complaints about the Geo-filtering, except using your PC as a PC in device manager while geo filtering, which doesn't work correctly. (Most recommendations say to make your PC a console or PS4 for best results).
Enter the the Geo box.
No Wi-Fi, only wired. (Your users are already wired for the most part for intended geo filtered devices) Primitive in function, without any extra fluff or desire to be an actual router. Just a device to accommodate an existing router with geo filtering and additional attributes that may help gaming on said wired device.
You could even go wild and offer an app for windows/PC that solely focuses on geo filtering.
Just an idea.

That would have been an estimate but as with most of our estimates it's never within that timeframe, I know it is coming but I don't have an ETA for you

Paulo_81 reacted to Deaconbrown in Goodbye Netduma routers
Agreed, I got my R2 in 2020 during COVID, and the concepts a great idea. However, the lack of support is really poor; the lackof updates for the router is poor and the the fact they have now brought out a new router and left the R2 in the dust shows how little they think of those who supported them by purchasing there product.

Paulo_81 reacted to CES in Goodbye Netduma routers
After so long with the netduma R2 and the xr1000 as well as the R3 router, i have decided that these routers are simply not worth it. The amount of software issues & lack of functional updates is unbearable. I have switched to Asus routers which has definitely been alot better (Asus ROG rapture GT-AXE11000 Running asusWRT Merlin software) this router has been 1000% better in every aspect and it was the same price as Netduma routers. I love the concept the the Netduma routers but the functionality and software support for these routers are none existent. Im not sure what needs to change with the Netduma team but the lack of support is not on my list of favorites. Among the lack of software support, these routers seem under powered and cooling efficiency is lacking especially when pushing these routers to the limit. Netduma we pay money for these routers we are expecting you guys to make a real effort in solving issues like QOS or even interface related issues. I have been watching the forums for awhile now and i have made the decision to no longer be a supporter or customer until there’s some sort of major overhaul with the software and the team working on this… granted nothing is perfect but an attempt to roll out updates or “hotfixes” would be appreciated by many, and the fact that there is no 3rd party software support or solution shows me that these devices aren’t as customizable as they may seem. Overall i am extremely disappointed with netgear(xr1000) and netduma(R2,R3) i have owned them all & the only reason anyone should look at getting this router is for the geo filter for blocking servers you don't want to connect to. Overall i give these products a 3/10 absolutely a waste of money.

As above, definitely a big no no! You can do it for consoles however if you would like.

As an owner of an R2 since launch, I can expect this one soon, it could be months or years, unfortunately, I'm not even excited anymore!

Paulo_81 reacted to Netduma Fraser in R2 v4 Firmware Update Status
We never give out any ETAs on firmware, we have completed the port so it's working on the R2 now but we will need to refine and test before it's ready to be put out for people to use

That's not possible for you to do but it's be requested for us to implement it so could happen in future

Paulo_81 reacted to TG3NOC1D3 in ANNOUNCEMENT: Introducing the Netduma R3
I honestly feel for those of us who have supported since the R1 should be offered access to a beta dumaOS 4 for the R2 ahead of others. Would be nice to feel like our continued support is recognized imo. I understand the focus is on the R3 but man, it would be nice to see a loyalty program since we put these devices and beta firmwares into our networks to test.

Paulo_81 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Ping Assist does not work as intented
You don't have to buy the R3, you can still use the R2 with all its features, just because we bring out a new router doesn't mean an older one is useless. As much as we would like to we can't update every single router with DumaOS on it for a lifetime to always have the latest and greatest. DumaOS 4 will come to the R2 though.

Paulo_81 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Filter Geo
So you're using Ping Assist set to 25ms is that right? The way Ping Assist works is it takes the first ping response from a server and determines if it should be allowed or blocked so you could have a server that is allowed that ping at or under your limit 25ms in this case but then subsequent pings are higher. Likewise you could have it the other way where you miss out on a server as the first ping is higher than your limit but then settles below it but it would already be blocked.
So if you want to be certain you get the server you want it's best to set Ping Assist to 0 and exclusively use the radius/polygon mode covering the server.

Paulo_81 reacted to DARKNESS in Filtro Geo
@Paulo_81To answer your question sometimes they can host though it is not common
Well yes they are mostly all dedicated though in certain scenarios there host based I don't necessarily know why but my best guess is that they're being cheapskates this is also something that happens in every cod though it is extremely rare ...the only exception would be if you play zombies were there just host based/P2P.

Did you draw the polygon when you were already on the game by any chance?
