Traffic Prioritization Settings: Modern Warefare (BO4)
Bert replied to East's topic in Call of Duty Support
By the way that Youtuber "Blame Truth" is an idiot. Just spreads rumors and doesn't know what he's talking about. Has no proof and has no idea of in game mechanics. Forward to 2:44 in that video (the infamous shoothouse clip) I can tell you exactly what happened there. The guy was in a p2p game and was host and his connection lagged out. You can tell from the killcam, the killcam registered his movements. It's the host's POV and that is running on his system, that's why you see his actions. But if the host himself lags out, the anti host advantage / anti lagswitch measure kicks in. Meaning all the other players have infinite latency for a moment, giving him infinite latency as well. So that's why the hits don't register at that player and that's also why that player doesn't shoot back. -

Haha where is the video? XiM only lets you use keybaord and mouse while having aim assist, because the game thinks you're using a controller. It won't magically make your aim assist stronger. -

Sorry but that's BS. Stuff like a XiM merely emulates controller inputs. So there is really no way of extending aim assist ranges. -

What I don't like about a VPN solution is that you are connecting through their servers so they potentially give you more connection issues. Adding latency on your own system ensures you keep the same route to the nearest server so minimal interference from the internet. Plus you can adjust it to what you want. 30ms isn't really all that much, I was up to 100-120ms in most cases. But that is in Asia, latency in the lobby here is higher across the board. -

I did this by connecting through a PC with windows internet sharing. Then run a piece of software called SoftPerfect Connection Emulator Results are a bit sketchy though as you have to find the right amount for each lobby. -
Because in some cases the game uses that. When I hook up my PS4 to my PC to test with wireshark I get source ports in the 6x.xxx range, when I connect straight to the router I get 3074. I haven't fully figured out why this is yet.
-
Depends on. For normal config I have SRC 3074 - DST 30000-45000 and SRC 30000-45000 DST 3074 For configuration through my PC I had SRC 62000-65535 DST 31000-45000 and SRC 31000-45000 DST 62000-65535. The regular setting, Games console also has always worked nice for me. But the nice thing on the second was that it doesn't use ABB for normal usage and you have full bandwidth.

No this was happening just idling in the menu. It might just be some demonware stats server that happens to be in the same datarange. As soon as you look for a match and enter matchmaking it will switch over to the actual game port.
-
I noted exactly the same. But one difference and that is in CoD there seems to be some server communication between 30.000 and 31.000 that is there even when you just sit around idle. That's why I prioritized 31.000-45.000 When I did that, the QoS light only comes on when you are actually in a lobby playing.

LOL I was thinking the same. Congrats on the nuke but they are playing like 7 year olds. -

People are forgetting that we have bullet travel and bullet drop. Like a long range headshot often becomes a torso shot and if you shoot a moving target you have to lead a bit. If it ever came to light that this is in the game CoD would loose it's playerbase overnight. I think many people are on a goosechase with this SBMM stuff going on. -
What IP adress did you look at? You need the port from external IP adress. In my case when it wasn't 3074 it was in the range 62000-65535 Sometimes it is and sometimes it's not. Strange really. I thought it changed with open and moderate NAT but Kinel said he also had 3074 on moderate NAT.
-
You need to go in game and check which port it uses under external IP adress. If it's not 3074 it's likely changing all the time between 62000 and 65535.
-
Yeah but for QoS you want to prioritize only the in game data. The rest doesn't matter.
-
That is weird. It changed for me when I went from my PC ICS connection to test with wireshark back to directly plugged into my XR500.
-
The difference between having the source port changing is between open and moderate NAT. Basicly is you have open NAT source is always 3074 (on PS4) If you have moderate NAT the source will be in the range 62000-65535. You can go into the network tab in MW and display the external IP, it will show the port its using. 3074 or 6xxxx.

I have found the port ranges also change with your setup. Basicly OPEN NAT = SRC 3074 Moderate NAT = SRC 62000-65535 anywhere in there Also it might be coincidence but I was playing on my alt account with crossplay on, and it seems like the PC players were unkillable. So I turned that off as well. -

These ports mentioned in the starting post don't work. I have UDP SRC 62000-64000 and DST 31000-45000 and the reverse rule into QoS at the moment. For some odd reason I found some communication with the datacenter (in my case Amazon Singapore) at 30110 and 30120 while just sitting in the lobby. With the above ranges it turns on QoS only from the moment it finds a lobby until you return to the lobby. There it stays on for a minute until it doesn't detect any traffic and then switches off. I can't say that it makes a difference though. -
xr300 super slow, settings or problem?
Bert replied to ynothc's topic in NETGEAR Nighthawk Support (XR range)
XR500 is a bit better than the XR300 but it depends heavily on your usage. If you use a lot of wifi, XR500 is better, if not and you use all wired you will most likely not see much benefit. The speed problem you have has to be a software of configuration issue as both WAN and LAN ports on that router is 1Gbit, or an issue with other parts of your setup. For reference though, have a look in your settings if all is right. Go settings > monitoring > statistics and look at your LAN connection. It should say 1000M/Full. If it says 100M/Full then that's your issue. You might need to try another ethernet cable or redo the connections. Some routers can be sensitive to the type of cable. I had one cable with a bit of damage once, on my ISP router it would drop to 10M/Full, on my XR500 it would drop to 100M/full. After cutting off 10cm and redoing the connector it went to 1000M/Full. These speeds get negotiated on signal strength as far as I am aware so that's why it can vary between devices. I just noticed while looking that up that my PS4 on XR500 drops to 100M/Full in rest mode, as soon as it wakes up it goes to 1000M/Full. So it might be a software glitch but I would investigate the physical cable first. Cable needs to be Cat 5E or higher for 1Gbps. The reason I suspect the cable is because usually when it tops out around 100 it's an issue with that. 100M needs 2 twisted pairs and 1000M needs all 4 twisted pairs. If there is an issue with one it will drop to 100M.
