Could we close this topic which has neither head nor tail before it goes wrong. it spins around...

XR500... last time I used it, also applies mtu changes at lan level... bad idea... I have seen metaphors on this topic so to imagine ... thinking that changing the mtu on the r2 is like believing in Santa Claus, the "arguments" of a 6 year old child will not do more than make me smile!

Still not understood? What's the story with the pipe...?

@TODDzillaInLA I invite you to write an article on wikipedia concerning the principle of MTU and your theory on the impact on online games! The foundations of the Internet will undoubtedly undergo a revolution thanks to you!

I have higher Latency using R2, less without.

Indeed it is an ONT: There are different ways to bypass the ISP router with R2: PPPoE identifier, dhcp option (60 ; 61) or even the Vlan ID. You can see it in network setting at the Wan level. I don't know how it is with your BT provider. But you can definitely find the information on Google... As explained @Newfie, this will prevent you from using your fixed telephony because the R2 does not have asterisk or other software for bypassing the voice part. (Personally, I do not use it, the cell phone is sufficient) For information, one thing that I also noted on the forum is that some users have noticed a drop in speeds with PPPoE. To confirm -
Only TP will be necessary in your case! However, you can set the QOS to 70/70% in case the other 4 and more devices "saturate" the bandwidth DL. But that is really unlikely!

Found mislocated servers? Let us know here!

I don't know how the heatmap ping mechanism works but when starting the game the servers always appear in the same place on the geofilter in any case! This "accessory" is a bit obsolete, especially if the server IPs change all the time! -

@Seye I don't know if the fiber module is built into your BT smarthub, but it might be worth bypassing it ! -

A real nuisance, this hotspot on consumer ISP routers! -

Are you talking about the MW2 game in multiplayer? I hadn't tried to play on this game for a while, a priori they improved the rendering of latency at the level of the game, or just a tip... This is still good news for netduma because it is getting closer to the information given on dumaOS (auto ping) On the server closest to me, I ping at 9ms on the geofiltre netduma auto ping and I ping on the game at 20ms in part... This is not the case on "old" CODs +20ms ping in general compared to auto ping (on the latency given by the game on the server). I understand the screenshot better! -

I hadn't seen before answering.. what does it look like without the geofilter? (disabled) -

Ok last news you were talking about Senegal my fault .... There is a server near you which would explain the low latency! You should target it to see if it matches! -

The R2 must target dedicated servers in Europe because if you are in Senegal, apart from a peer server I do not see how you can have 14 ms of ping on this game? -
wouldn't it be best to connect the r2 to the wifi repeater in rj45 and to connect the pc to the r2 in rj45 ?
-
Clearly, he is ready to pay 30 dollars a month, just so that someone changes his VPN file to put in more target servers given by ping heatmap... The joke ! Kinel if you want your VPN to geolocate you on the game in the Middle East while keeping your ping pose, you just need to put port 443 TCP only at the HVPN level ! I gave the tip 2 years ago... And the story of MTU... my God. Changing the MTU on the R2 is only on the Wan side. 750 donkey https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximum_transmission_unit

Catchy topic title, baseless screenshot... (HVPN in middle east...he's in california why...apart from interested credulous people in europe ) totally fake ! You can't expect that console ping with the server processing rate difference! On PC, this can only be realistic if you are in the endgame menu which reveals your exact ping on the reference server! It's buz to get views on his YT channel... The HQ mode is known for + 100k, moreover its KD testifies to it (just over 1k/d), and by taking lines without playing the objective, it is easy to get out of the series to make carnage.

Fake ....

On old CODs, this measure was based on your max UL, mainly to know if you could host a peer lobbies! Since there are dedicated servers, it is no longer useless ... it's an oversight in the game code to make it look pretty! And there is definitely a bps conversion problem, that's for sure. The K being too much... MW2 : Totally obsolete VG : Supported but a conversion problem BO4 : OK BO3 : OK In any case you can see it for yourself on Network monitor by isolating a console or PC on the R2 and launching a game... To play, you don't need more than 0.5/0.5 Mbps

MW2 Shoot First Die first? how to fix this?
Krush replied to ownal0t's topic in Call of Duty Support
Why do you bother looking for solutions on a game that will in no way allow you to be efficient! Personally I play VG at the moment and it's great! I will upgrade to MW2 the day they release a new COD and so on. I've been doing this since BO4 and my gaming sessions are mostly enjoyable! -
Juste pour être sûr, quel est ton sentiment en jouant sur ce jeux directement sur ta Box FAI ?
-
@kinel It doesn't matter what your PC is, as long as the motherboard offers an audio line in and out!

Are you sure about Apple devices: I isolated the 5GHz band in 160MHz on channels 36 to 64. My Iphone 7 gets a wifi connection....

@Bert Is it possible to have a DL software limitation on W11 ... 10? I launched 2 downloads at the same time on Battle.net and Steam, the download seems to balance around 200 MB/s for me between the 2 apps...! The 2 apps separately run at around 220 MB/s... My installation runs well in 10 Gbps according to my local tests and externally : Local : Internet :

I set up my network: 2023_01_07_111851.mp4 It remains to find servers that go up to more than 250 MB/s!
