robert27841 reacted to Netduma Fraser in ANNOUNCEMENT: Introducing the Netduma R3
Would be no less than another router, you shouldn't encounter a limitation even if you have a lot of devices in your household

robert27841 got a reaction from Pentol in ANNOUNCEMENT: Introducing the Netduma R3
Netduma should make a second version a much powerfull with 1 10gbit port and 2.5gbit 6 port wifi6E or wifi 7 like the netgear XR1000 is like the R3 and the XR700 should be like R4 or name it R3 Pro or something I would pay for the huge price increase here in the US internet provider's now provide fiber optic internet 1GB 2GB and 5GB speeds upload and download . I own the Netduma R1 it was ok but then XR500 Was better but I needed more ports I didn't want to buy a network switch and when the XR700 came out it had everything I needed at the time but now Im looking for the next router that has everything I need.I am sure a lot of people would agree to have a second version like a R4 or R3 Pro I know y'all can make it happen we have faith in NetDuma

robert27841 reacted to Anilman92 in ANNOUNCEMENT: Introducing the Netduma R3
Im a bit disappointed...
no 10gbit port or at least 2.5gbit port
Better wifi is always good but i dont need it(always wired)
rgb bling bling i dont need it i always turn rgb off.
better hardware inside maybe more power efficient.
but i dont see much improvement compared to r2...

robert27841 reacted to Netduma Lew in NEW R2 FIRMWARE: 3.3.280
Hey everyone!
We’re excited to provide you with the latest firmware for the R2 – DumaOS 3.3.
While it doesn’t bring immediately ‘obvious’ changes like DumaOS for Mobile, DumaOS 3.3 introduces a powerful new addition – our new AutoDPI. This is a big moment for DumaOS, and it means we’ll be supporting new games and applications faster than ever without needing to wait for a firmware update.
For details on what AutoDPI is and how it’s going to make things better, check out our video on it below:
DumaOS 3.3 also comes with a plethora of bug fixes as well as plenty of stability and usability improvements.
After extensive testing, we’re confident that DumaOS 3.3 puts the R2 is in a really good place: we hope you enjoy it.
Download the firmware here:

Changelog
Wider range of games and applications supported by DumaOS (and more to come!). Hybrid VPN no longer experiences issues when switching between Wireguard and OpenVPN. DNS settings for Hybrid VPN are now retained after reboot. Fixed an issue where replacing a faulty config file for Hybrid VPN would cause functionality issues. OpenVPN logs are no longer deleted when the VPN is disabled. Various other fixes to Hybrid VPN functionality and stability. IPv6 traffic is now always categorised by QoS, allowing QoS to interact with it more reliably. Ping Heatmap no longer crashes if pinging an empty server group. Improvements to overall DumaOS stability, reducing cases where users see random reboots or disconnections. Numerous security improvements.

robert27841 reacted to Netduma Fraser in XR700 Beta Update
Hey everyone, it's been a long time coming, I feel your pain, the wait is (basically) over!
So we were planning to put the XR700 out today in Early Access, the mobile view you may have seen on the R2 requires the app to have that working on the 700 rather than a mobile web browser, as of now it's looking as though the app will be approved/go out on the respective app stores on Monday so we're holding off on the grand launch until then as without it you're missing a big part of what has gone into the update.
HOWEVER, I know you guys have been waiting for a long time and so I wanted to at least give you something. So, if you absolutely cannot wait until Monday, please post below and I will PM you the firmware. Do keep in mind you'll be missing the updated mobile view which is a big part of it.
I will like your post when I've sent you a PM with it.

robert27841 reacted to Netduma Fraser in XR700 Beta Update
We're receiving another build this week so we'll test that and it will then depend on how well that goes as to what happens, either we can then prep for release or we/NG will need to fix anything that has found

robert27841 reacted to Netduma Fraser in XR700 Beta Update
From what I can see there are just 1 or 2 issues from the latest build we're investigating so it really shouldn't be long at all now

robert27841 reacted to Netduma Fraser in New update?
I haven't been told they're releasing it but it may be a slow release just to ensure there is no issues with it before rolling it out across all the routers - if it auto updated then I think you'll be good to stay on that version

robert27841 reacted to Maxx in Horrible Router
Spoken like someone who did not read the post(s) thoroughly. My last follow up indicated I replaced this router with an Asus RT-AX82U Pro , which worked perfect, out of the box. The issues with the Netgear are/were Netgear /Dumba$$ OS related, plain and simple. Constant disconnects, very slow throughout ( as I mentioned earlier, most of my connections to the router are via Ethernet ) and the Dumba$$ utility being so extremely slow, when it worked at all. Once I removed the Netgear and replaced it with the Asus, I have had ZERO issues, period! It took me maybe one hour to set up the replacement and have not had to do a re-set yet ( other than when we lose power due to weather)

I have been having the same exact issues since I purchased my XR1000 1 year ago. It's such a trash OS, it's ridiculous. There's hundreds of the same reports, and yet still no fix other than "reinstall the firmware", which does not work.

robert27841 reacted to Maxx in Horrible Router
Not a joke unfortunately. Absolute waste of a lot of Money. I’ve had the replacement (ASUS RT-AX86U Pro) running for a little over a week now. The difference is night and day!!!! Speed s and throughout both wireless and wired has doubled. No device drops or wireless drops

robert27841 reacted to Fugs in Horrible Router
Assuming this is not an April fools joke... Also feels like I'm a fool for purchasing the XR1000.
I've now owned mine for over a year and it's been THE worse router I've ever owned.
I purchase it for QoS - seems that is no good as my daughters phone on WiFi can cause the ping on my Cat5'd machine to reach 400+.
However on top of this setting up timeframes to block machines or manually blocking them is utterly inconsistent.
Sometimes they are blocked, sometimes not. Often blocking one machine will block another (random!) device on our network.
My Android tablet frequently gets kicked off the WiFi and is not assigned an IP address until the router is rebooted.
I do not expect a fix for any of these issues either - it seems us customers have simply been beta testers for the unfinished, and still entirely buggy OS.
I'm very disappointed in Netgear, I used to swear by their products but this - very expensive - router has single handedly undone everything.
Last Netgear product I purchase - if any admin reads this please just forward my dissatisfaction back to the management.
Regards.

robert27841 reacted to DARKNESS in Horrible Router
I couldn't deny anything further from the truth this is an issue on Netgear do to the fact they want they're os on top of the dumaos and it just doesn't work whenever you run in to they're os it just causes issues. The biggest problem of all is then netgear and netduma testing were after netduma does the testing they have to wait for netgear to do they're testing which who knows what they're testing like u serious? I mean if it an employee testing it and there are no betas how else do you find bugs and report them to be fixed except and employee of they're company who might be half assing they're job.
Then another issue is the hardware they don't got full control of it it like untapped potential from my understand like they're one cpu never really gets used as well CPU 3 it some packet inspection like that sounds mad dumb a CPU for packet inspection only being used at less than 5%
I understand that the reason for netduma partnership with netgear is do to the fact they have the influence to afford better hardware but at what cost does it come to bite you in the ass?
Then there are the XR300 AND XR700 LEFT TO DUST

Thanks for the reply. Sad we spend the big bucks for a router that is supposedly rated “Best” and can’t even use it properly because the OS on it sucks. Def will not recommend Netgear, lack of support is disappointing

robert27841 reacted to Maxx in Horrible Router
I have had my XR1000 for a bit over a year now and it has been nothing but trouble. Looking at switching to another brand. I keep it current, on 1.0.0.64_1.0.49 and still issues like:
1. Network slows to a crawl, try to login to the router and get device not found using the ip address or routerlogin.net
2. Once I am in the router, 80% of the time any tool I try to use, especially Device Manager times out with an error saying: "This RAPP is not loaded yet please try again in a minute" and no matter how long I wait or try it never loads until I've restarted the router several times ( and YES, I reboot it through the Settings/Administration tool and dont do a cold-hard unplug)
I've seen on several forums/posts where support is saying to do a factory reset!!! That is a bull$hit answer. ridiculous to tell people to factory reset and have to re set up their whole network just because Netgear cant put out a quality product or at least fix what they sell!

robert27841 reacted to Netduma Fraser in XR700 not connecting to any VPN Hybrid servers ( I have a paid subscription )
It was non of the reasons above then? If not, we do have a new firmware coming out soon so it would be worth seeing if it works on that when available.

Testing is going well, we don't have any ETAs but I'll make sure to get you guys added to the group once it's on the way.
Thanks for the reminder about the page update, I've chased the team to get that sorted!
