my latency is around 15 to 17 ms without steady ping on so my thing is is it really neccessary to use it an if i do should i just put it on simple ? or does i mean does my not fluctuate that much to need to have it on in your opinion ? any input would be appreciated thanks

so let me understand this if my ping with it off is 17 ms or latency is my ping dont spike but maybe 3 or 4 ms so i should put steady ping to like 18 or 19ms? am i getting this right if i were to use it ?

just wanted peoples input do most of you use it ? or don't or the ones that do do you think its beneficial or helps you in your game play.

when you have steady ping on expert an it says to slightly raise the slider above your average target ping is that with steady ping on or your ping when you would have it off?

is it worth using steady ping? if i have it off i get 15 ms an with it on i get 21 to 23 ms does it really make that much of a difference? it steadys my ping but sometimes can't ping the server

@Netduma Fraser hey i updated my r3 to the lastes firmware 4.0.170 but i wasn't added i found the link from alex an did my hybrid vpn an it connects but in mw3 on my pc it still shows my location i add my pc an then put call of duty to use vpn but its not changing on my ps5 it did idk if pc is different an upnp works but my nat type is moderate unless i dmz my pc. idk if theres a fix or im doing wrong if you could please help or does the r3 not work yet with a vpn ? with express vpn. right now i just completely deleted it cause it wasn't loading web pages

@Netduma Fraser @Netduma Alex i manually updated it an everything is fine except that it still doesn't ping the servers really when i play.. it does stabilize my connection just doesn't show the ping is that still a thing i thought it was gonna be a little better. or does it not matter that it don't ping much?

hey @Netduma Fraser ive had ipv6 off an yesterday i kept smartboost off all day an today when i got on it says loading features an doesn't load still so i still have to reboot the router

for sure would will do both an keep you up to date if it resolves it

i tried it i thought it was ok for a bit but then today when i got up an got on it still was saying trying to load features an still had to reboot an i also had turned back on smartboost so idk if i have to turn it all off an keep it off

i tried turning off smartboost an since for the holidays i haven't played an at least for me since i connect with a ethernet cable to my laptop an its not always hooked up now the dumaos page doesnt even load up just a white page for me so i still have to reboot it. just giving a heads up

i factory reset the router ill see if it helps if not then ill disable smartboost

@Netduma Fraseryea I’m getting the same thing when I connect to my laptop by Ethernet cable an no I don’t keep the tab open at all when I’m not using it an reboot fixes it but the last 2 updates I’ve been getting it. Like when I go to play an say I haven’t played for a couple hours or a day or so it happens

@Netduma Fraser I put my playstation 5 on dmz should I not do that ? cause my nat was moderate an upnp didn't open my nat or is there other way to open it on a ps5

when i first was playing it was pinging the server or host i was connected to? now the past few i was connected to its not showing the ping does that matter or is that normal that sometimes it doesn't?

how set up the vpn on the R2 with express vpn but im trying to use it for my console or can i not do that? i have it on my router connected but when i browse on my laptop its slow an when i check to see if my ip shows a different location it doesn't. now if i use the app on my macbook it works with changing my location. so idk if theres something im doing wrong for it to work. any input would be appreciated. I try to add the console which it does but can't change to vpn it just say do not vpn this device an its grayed out?

@Netduma Fraser can you use a vpn on a netgear nighthawk xr500? or would you stick with the r2 because of the smart interface ? but im not getting the speed that i have is there a reason why?

I can't even get on the website to even upgrade the r1. i type in the ip but it won't load.
