  1. A lot of people place tape over their router's lights
  2. The R2 router supports IPV4 and IPV6. You will be ok. It can get a little tricky to get started if your IPS requires PPOE. You will have some additional steps to get your connection working. There will be a lot of people on the forum who will be able to help you get going.
  3. Titanfall 2 servers please. Is there a way I could help make that happen?
  4. they aren't playing. It's a black screen on both apps. I have the Adblocker on the TV disabled
  5. I'm having problems receiving YouTube TV and Samsung TV streaming services. Samsung TV has not worked since I plugged in the R2, and it doesn't matter if Adblocker is on or off. However the problem is not consistent with YouTube TV. It worked last night, but would not load a few minutes ago
  6. I would like to be able to see switches in the Device Manager. That way I could allot a chunck of bandwidth for it instead of having to do it to every device connected to it individually. Im still getting to know the R2, but it's certainly doing a good job on the home network so far. Have only played a few matches using traffic prioritization and CC. I didn't even have the CC sliders below 90%. Glad to have a way to prioritize my console given that we are using 100% streaming services for TV entertainment.
  7. @Netduma Fraser @Netduma Iain Has the 3.0 beta solved the issue with Wi-Fi calling which was discovered on R1's with DumaOS v2.1.3.29? Can you please comment on this question?
  8. I ordered mine! Please tell me you've worked out the kinks with wifi calling. I would hate to have to put the R2 on the shelf until that's solved
  9. has the glitch with wifi calling not working correctly on DumaOS on R1 V1.3 been figured out, and will it be implemented in V1.4?
  10. All the above and the future posts below are very deserving candidates for a new R1, but post #6 should be the winner!
  11. If trying to help you out is leeting I apolgize, but you've misunderstood. I'm not trying to be toughnuts with you, just trying to make sure you get the most out of your R1. Reading through your posts, it's apparent you need some guidance.
  12. Dude you're missing the point of the original post. This set up guide is intended to help people who just have Internet and aren't using TV and phone services from vzw. You're making your life harder. Since you have TV and phone, you really can't switch your vzw service to ethernet. To get the most out of your R1, just have 1 ethernet cable from your R1 to your vzw router. Have the WiFi on your vzw router turned off. Connect everything to your R1. Nothing should be plugged into your vzw router except the coax cable from the wall and the ethernet cable that goes to your R1
  13. You can dmz your R1, but in order to get the most from your R1 you need to have everything in your network go through the R1 before it gets to your vzw router. Congestion control will not be as effective if you have network devices bypassing the R1
  14. I made this thread for people who were internet subscribers only. I can't comment officially about what Fios services you'd loose if you were bypass your quantum router, but it is possible. I think you loose caller ID, the channel guide, and a few other specific VZW services. The ONT is what you'd need to connect the Ethernet cable from your R1 to. It's probably in your basement. The VZW techs installed it the day they came to set your service up. I have read a lot of players on here are doing just fine with their VZW router in front of their R1's, you just need to make sure everything from your house goes through the R1. You'll have to turn off your VZW router's 2.4 and 5 ghz wifi and use the R1's to get the most out of your R1. As far as your other question. It's recommended you enter the speed you're getting. Do a couple of speed tests and take the average and enter that into your bandwidth settings on your R1. I usually just enter the speeds I pay for, which is 50/50. In most of my speed tests, I am around 58 up and 60 dn, but keeping it at 50/50 on the R1 hasn't caused any bad buffering problems on the other network devices being used while gaming.
  15. I added the link so the Duma Army could help identify their unidentified network devices for you good sir. I was pretty sure you knew how to look up MACs
  16. What's up brother? I found 2 that I can't identify. After work today, I'm going to block them and see what kind of havoc occurs
  17. Here's a cool link to help people identify "Nameless Devices" on their network. Just type in the first 3 sections of the MAC address and it will find who the manufacturer is. http://www.macvendors.com/
  18. have your cable plugged into the ONT ethernet port and port 1 on your Netduma, have the power cable removed from the duma, ask them to renew your IP lease, after they give you a new lease, plug your duma in. You should be all set. That is exactly how I did it myself. What you're asking them to do is give you a new IP address so your ONT can sync up with the duma instead of looking for your quantum router. Your current IP address is set up for your VZW router. That's why I asked you to pull the power on the ONT. Sometimes you'll get a new IP address if your ONT isn't powered on. It can take an hour maybe more though sometimes. Once you get a new IP you'll be good. Let me know how you make out. Make sure you follow all the instructions that came with your netduma for the rest of the set up. Good luck
  19. yes ask them to break (renew) the lease. make sure your duma is off when they renew it. after they do that you should be all set
  20. Did you ask your VZW tech support person to break the IP lease? If not, make sure your duma is off and ask them to please renew your IP lease. Did you buy a cable or make one yourself?
  21. you need to run an ethernet cable from your ONT to the place were you'll have your duma set up, and then follow the instructions I layed out in the original post of this thread. If you can't run your own ethernet cable, you'll need to ask VZW tech support switch you back to co-ax. and then set up as I advised above. Only you'll have Coax between the ONT to your quantum. Then plug port 1 of your duma into port 1 of your quantum and follow the other things I said above.
  22. Hey bro, If you're going to use the VZW router and have the netduma plugged into the quantum, you don't need to switch to ethernet. Did you run an ethernet cable from the ONT to your quantum? If so, did you buy a pre-made cable? If you made your own, try re-terminating the ends to make sure you have good crimps. Other than that, turn off the quantum, the netduma and the ONT for 10 minutes. Then turn the ont on, then the quantum, then the netduma. Make sure your ethernet cable from the ONT is plugged into the lan port on the quantum and your netduma's cable goes from port 1 on the netduma to port 1 on the quantum. Make sure UPNP is ticked in misc settings and in the UPNP section of the settings. Have your computer plugged into the duma on port 2, or if you use WiFi make sure you enter the password netdumar1 so you can link to the ui of the duma Let me know how it works for you
  23. Dude, being a know it all, I told you so kinda guy is super annoying. Sitting back and waiting to dispel nonsense, is weak. If you have something real to contribute then by all means contribute, or if you're so smart, write the code to combat the issue yourself and start your own gaming router company. You'll be doing the gaming community a favor. My guess is, it's not that easy or everyone would be doing it I've read and seen a bunch that indicates low ping is ultimately king no matter what the lag comp is doing. The R1 helps the user control their own network lag and also helps to find low ping lobbies. There are several threads here that indicated moving or home location is an option to experiment with combating the effects of lag comp... just like was recommended to you on Mar 25 2015. So why all the venom? Are you jealous of Netduma's innovation? The purpose of this thread is to inform us all of the findings of their experiment. The one they created to help us all see the reality behind the myths of lag comp. So let's see what their finding's actually are, and then you can tell us all about how stupid we are and how smart you are. In so doing, you will provide me with a good laugh. Thanks in advance.
