II N3MES1S II Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I wanted to know does the netduma actually prioritize game packets? Not be confused with C.C. prioritizing, but in sync with it. I have my console, phone and laptop connected most of the time. So they are both sending and receiving data that are not game packets. If the netduma doesnt do this, I would love for this to be implemented. So when I play on my console all data it sends and recieves is first in line, everything else is gets sent after game packets.
Zennon Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I recall Iain commenting that the duma does prioritise gaming packets as it is part of the protocol it uses.
II N3MES1S II Posted November 23, 2015 Author Posted November 23, 2015 Cool, I never saw indication that it did. If we can get a confirmation on that it would great, if not it should be implemented.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 24, 2015 Administrators Posted November 24, 2015 I believe it does but will ask Iain tomorrow and confirm for you.
II N3MES1S II Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 Ok thanks Fraser, if it doesn't please add that to the next update.
FQs19 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 the R1 uses fq_codel which has packet queue management http://forum.netduma.com/topic/2665-packet-loss-when-pinging-r1/?p=41775 Just not sure if gaming packets take priority.
II N3MES1S II Posted November 25, 2015 Author Posted November 25, 2015 Crossing my fingers that it has or gets it.
