Bravo
Hi, I got the router the other day and have set it up using the wiki guides but I'm losing a lot of speed through the R1. This is the speed I get through the superhub This is through the R1 I've followed this guide http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=setup_gt_120 and have the Anti flood set to 100 when testing. If you need anymore info I will add it. Can anybody point me in the right direction to improve the speed? Thanks in advance for any help.

Bravo
When gaming the router works fine and does as it should but that is a big chunk of speed to lose. I forgot to add when testing I have my laptop set to take all the bandwith.
Zennon
Normally with these tweaks you can squeeze 120 out of the duma. lucazs has a virgin set up I am sure he will be along soon to show you how to get the best out of it. The upcoming firmware (no ETA) allows speeds up to 900mb so hang in there.
Macca65
I have a virgin router, I get 102 down and 12 up through the Netduma Is your super hub in modem mode and is your laptop wired to the Netduma, the speeds do fall if it's through wifi
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 22, 2015 Administrators Share Posted October 22, 2015 On congestion control can you wiggle the anti-flood sliders down and then back to 100%, also then reset distribution on device prioritisation and do a wired speed test
Bravo
I'll give it a go and report back. Thanks. Ok just done it.
lukasz
Hello there. Grate suggestions form everybody. Now we need to establish few things first Are you doing test wired to the netduma? The device priotization only apply to upload speed and what is the speeds you have entered in to set bandwidth speeds? and are you running the Modem mode on the SH or not? EDIT: My lunch break its finish so I will check back here when I get back home this ev.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 22, 2015 Administrators Share Posted October 22, 2015 Okay much better, you might be able to squeeze a bit more out of it by trying different speed test servers and using a different ethernet from your PC to the R1, otherwise the update will be out soon so you can utilise your entire speeds
Bravo
Hello there. Grate suggestions form everybody. Now we need to establish few things first Are you doing test wired to the netduma? Yes The device priotization only apply to upload speed I have both set to 100 with the reactive algorithm and what is the speeds you have entered in to set bandwidth speeds? 190/12 and are you running the Modem mode on the SH or not? I tried it but lost so much speed I decided to use the SH for general use. EDIT: My lunch break its finish so I will check back here when I get back home this ev. Thanks for the help everybody. The router has worked fine with my PS4 but I'll keep using the SH for general use until the update drops.
PharmDawgg
I believe Iain is going to be doing a blog on speedtest sites/servers.
lukasz
Sure buddy. You could try this. Make sure that you plug the Ethernet cable to the first port of Super Hub(as well you could try different cables just to roll out the physical factor or damage cable)and then first restart you super hub. Then Move back and forth the sliders in congestion control and then lave them on 100. than go to settings and restart the duma router(not factory reset) and than run some speed test. To get the full picture I will run some test like early in the morning when no one is on( not only in your House but in general in you area )and see the results. If that doesn't help make sure you are on the latest version of Duma firmware which should be 1.03.4 Those are 2 things I can think of that you may want try to get that speeds a bit up. Now I have to mention that I am moving to BT soon because of constant problems with VM. Have been with them for 2 years now and have number on Techs at my place and yet I was not able to establish stable and reliable connection using their services. Brilliant news lucazs, now if only everyone on virgin would move so we don't have to play against bullet sponges On a serious note its bad for you as a player to put up with ISP congestion and us poor people playing against you , so this will be a good move for you. lukasz
Yebs There is always something wrong ether low signals, High pings etc. This time around my line is unstable again etc. Just I am tired of them constantly coming to my house and that resulting in 1 month fix. I have posted some of their Internet cabinets some time ago that its self shows the quality of service. I really dont need 160 Mb bandwidth I rather take 40 mb stable babe. Zennon
My mates pings on virgin are like yours up and down one game he can not kill because the game tested when he had a low ping then it went out so hes 400ms behind everyone. Then the next game it see's a high ping then it lowers itself to being stable again and hes got 400ms on everyone and god mode. Unfair for us playing against that. lukasz
Yes and thats only one side of the coin. Second is the totally unstable bandwidth. I honestly do remember a full month when it was stable.
