Hi dude, i'm not speaking for anyone else but i don't think anyone here thinks that, however i do think there are peeps that read about the netduma or watch all the videos made using a netduma running round on cod totally obliterating the opposition (checkout some of lukasz's here on the forum " they are fucking amazing") and expect to just plug it in and replicate that.

In all honesty i was one of those people, i read about on the "old badgers blog" i think it was called and then was watching simjc's youtube gameplay vids and ended up getting a tp link router at first. i ended bricking that and then he upgraded to using a netduma so i looked into it more and had to wait till my birthday to get one, i immediately thought my games would be amazing, they weren't so changed some settings and got some ok games.

Then i watched an oldish youtube vid made by a user on here called "pro innocence" i think using throttling settings (well using the sliders at less than 10%) on the duma and he was annihilating peeps left and right so i changed my settings to the same he stated and my games were so shite and i was so raging i felt like i did 8 mnths ago before the duma, £150 is a lot of money to me so my partner was gonna make me send it back.

I could'nt remember what settings i used before when my games were ok and so was really frustrated but i have been reading loads of different posts and learning and trying different things and so have been getting better results. The biggest thing was making sure that when i change locations to avoid a certain dedicated server i back of the game to do so leave it 2-3 mins while i move locale in the geof and then go back into the game to search because of the anti cheat thing. it took me a while to work it out. Since then i have changed my settings a few times to the ones i got from lukasz that i linked to in an earlier post. So far so good. I never get scores like Lukasz but my games are much better than they were before.

It's all a learning curve, innit!

I'm very happy to do a 1 on 1 like I said In your previous post :)

As Smooch says above, there is no setting that fits all, its all about finding the best settings for you

Hey Cajun - A couple of items to remember.

1) - The Duma wasn't optimized for the Beta.  It was brand new after all.  Iain and Fraser have both commented that this will result in a further optimization effort, but I #TrustinNetduma, so I am going to TRY and be a patient and understanding consumer.   :D

2) - Dedicated Servers.  All but about a very small percentage of my Beta game plays were on dedicated servers.  The only time I saw P2P games were on the early access on Tuesday night prior to Launch Wednesday.

Now my experience with the XBox Live Seattle dedicated server on Thursday and Friday, during the Beta, was unplayable.  Friday I ALMOST deleted the Beta, but they patched twice on Friday, again on Saturday AM, and it was "better".  I caution everyone to avoid the MSFT/XBoxLive Seattle Dedicated server bank if you can.  That server host is just a black hole of my bullets.

That said, I decided to move to the Playstation 4 and their FINALLY Pay-to-Play online MP market, specifically BECAUSE of the quality we Duma Enlightened have seen from Seattle.

I'll be happy to post any settings I find that work for me though, so stay tuned.   I intend to balance both my sliders and my geo filter (if it makes a difference) based purely on player count and how the game play "feels" in relation to hit detection both outbound and inbound as I have been doing this year with both the 360 and PS3 platforms.

Play a couple of games, take some notes, confer with existing thoughts/beliefs/ make a subtle change and repeat the process until you find something that works for you.   ;)

I hear you Dillinger!

Black ops 2 has been out for nearly 3 years so it's possible to get many good p2p hosts and rate them over time so you eventually end up having good hosts based on your rating.

I'll probably leave most of my settings the same but perhaps put ping assist to around 30-50ms and try that.

Sliders are currently on 70 both way and that seems to work well for Black ops 2 with ping assist to 0.

Only me and my wife use our internet when I'm on the PS4 and she only browses web pages on her ipad. (although didn't realise until recently on here that web page loading can cause spikes big enough to potentially lose gun fights!  ..Hopefully big update will help with this  :)

I can see your patient at building up a picture on hosts and that takes some time.

In an ideal world then are you looking for mainly p2p host games with black ops 3 once the game is up and running?

You have the congestion set to 70% each way that will nearly eliminate all lag spikes as it works now :)

It's still all trial and error but once you find you're setting,my guess is you'll have to adjust them again as nothing is forever. But you'll find a good starting point 70/70 IMO and go from there.

I should have said local congestion spikes as in other users of your network surfing, downloading/streaming etc.

Last night I noticed a few lag spikes, going from a steady 30-40ms shooting up to over 80ms at times.

Any ideas why and if I can fix it as the sliders are always set to 70?

That could have been the host of the game, were other hosts like that also?

Might have been some of the other players in your lobby causing the spikes.I'm not saying that's the cause but a few really unstable connections in your lobby and it trashes everyone's gaming and can cause big time lag spikes.

If your line is clear from other users it can only be one of two things a bad host whos brother is streaming / surfing etc or your ISP has congestion.

Use the netduma diags or pingplotter pro (free for 30 days) at peak times to check for ISP congestion.

Whenever I run the netduma diag test it shows - ping - good - all else = exceptional/no loss.

If it's a host like you say and the ping graph looks stable at 30ms then goes up dramatically due to their household streaming I'm unsure whether to deny the host or allow them as it may be a one off. What do you recommend?

I'll also give the ping plotter a go.

I'd personally wait as 30ms is a good ping so you wouldn't want to block it for what could be an isolated incident

Apologies for the delay  - I only managed to run the ping plotter pro last night.

Can someone have a look at the attachments and please advise?

Attachment 1 - tested to 8.8.8.8.the jitter reads 0.43 which looks good but at hops 3 and 4 it shoots up in red.

Attachment 2 - tested to twitter - jitter is showing 0ms (Great) but hops 2,3 and 4 again large spikes.

Attachment 3 - tested to pingplotter - ping is 120 ms! Hope this was a one off as other ping results have been low.

My question is: Should I be concerned with the jitter spikes in pics 1&2 & the ping increase in pic 3 and if so should I report it to my ISP, or just pay attention to the round trip results which look ok?

Thanks Guys

Sorry i thought i had replied to you.

Pingplotter is in the US hence the high ping time.

Your plots are all good just worry about the round trip ms :)
