Can Netduma Support what I want to do?

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I am looking at purchasing a Netduma. I want to make sure it will support my home configuration before purchasing.

I currently have..

4x power line adapters http://www.netcommwireless.com/product/powerline/np504

My modem BiPAC 8800AXL adsl 2+ in Australia

Two Standard routers

If I use the Netduma as the primary source and use the following above will it control all of my devices?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Yebs so R1 definitely will support your current and future internet speeds.

Now you will need some sort of modem or modem/router combo in front of R1. BiPAC 8800AXL adsl 2 seems to be perfect for that job.

Now one thing to keep in mind its the WiFi on NetDUMA. Which is 2.4 GHz only. So you have to answer you self  are you ok witch that. Now again you mention that you have 2 other routers and also BiPAC 8800AXL adsl 2 has a 5 GHz WiFi so you could easily get around that limitation. Ether Use the 5 GHz from that BiPAC 8800AXL adsl 2 and live it as a router not modem only. Or even better if any of those 2 routers after Duma if they have 5 GHz then they can act like access points.

Only thing i cant speak of is power link adapters as i have no experience on those but seeing some people have no problem with using variety of different power link adapters.

I have purchased the Netduma now and will be arriving in the next couple hours. With my current modem/router do I switch it to full bridge mode? How can I let the Netduma take control of my whole network?

Thanks for everyone feedback and help!

Yebs in that case if you wont r1 to be the first router is good to put you ISP ROUTER IN modem mode.

Once you done that then follow swtps on how to phisicaly connect them. And then swe how it goes and if you will have any questions just ask.

To make use of the Netduma's congestion control connect all devices to it and set up the CC, it will stop local congestion (other users on your network creating lag)

Some people use a set up like this

Wall > Netduma > Router in AP (access point mode) to use the 5ghz Wifi this works because the router is now just an access point.
