Zer0Aspect
My R3 was delivered earlier this afternoon. For initial setup & testing I just had it directly connected to my modem/router to get internet/wi-fi enabled. During this period I had connected my Xbox Series X via wi-fi to my R3 and played a few rounds of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 to test the geo-filtering. And it worked perfectly as far as I could tell. The device showed up, connection showed while i was in game, servers showed up on the map, and everything seemed to work. After this initial setup & testing period I went into integrating the R3 into my setup for it to be a the main piece for my home network. This included deleting the original Xbox Series X device profile I had originally as I would be using it wired later. My modem/router is a BWG320-550 from my provider, AT&T, I have set it up into bypass mode for the R3 to take center stage. And everything works perfectly. All my devices show up wi-fi and wired. As well as all my devices from my eero system to my smart home equipment. But since doing this geo-filtering has no longer worked. After adding my Xbox Series X again in devices, wired this time, it no longer worked after adding it to geo-filtering. Played a few rounds of CoD MW3 again and nothing. No metrics, no servers, no device even showing connected. I added my desktop and even tried playing CoD Warzone and nothing there as well. So I deleted my Xbox Series X device profile after fully shutting it down. After adding it again and going back to geo-filtering to re-add it there I was met with the warning that said device was already filtered. Even though I had just fully removed the device profile. It didn't even show up in the geo-filtering show all devices. Just my desktop. Which is where one of my grievances comes in. Is there no way to remove a device profile from geo-filtering without fully deleting the device profile? I use the control panel via my desktop & phone app and haven't found a way I have basically tried every solution offered so far on the forums. Restarting my consol/game, Geo-latency, ping assist, strict mode, changing range, rebooting router, etc. Basically everything outside a factory reset. I even change my geo filtering to a different country to see if it even worked in the background. And nothing. It's like the system can't read my devices or work in general. Even though I can see the data In network activity Chr
TrayDay
I ran into this bug as well. One of the ways that I was able to get it back to working functionally. I just did a factory reset for good measures. From then on, I was able to get Geo-Filter working as intended. I don't know about Xbox, but I do know that PS5/PlayStation keeps servers in a "Cache" on your system. Basically, powering down the console and unplugging from the back of the console for about two minutes, then replugging the power chord in. Resets the "Cache". Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 21, 2023 Administrators Share Posted December 21, 2023 I've sent you a PM with firmware, install that then do a factory reset after just to ensure no issues carry over, that should resolve the console/geo issue. When a device is added to the Geo-Filter you can click on it to remove/delete it or to disable filtering on it while still keeping it added. Everything is working as it should. Servers & devices shows up, ping is stabilized, doesn't connect to anything out of my range, and i can add & delete devices fine now. before the option didn't even show up. Thanks a ton for your help PharmDawgg

Do you recommend before we update the R3 to a new firmware to always reboot R3 before and after we update do a factory reset. Just curious. Thanks Fraser. Vielen Dank

For the moment if it's been a few days since a previous update I would suggest rebooting first before upgrading, it may not be necessary but will make sure it works - we know what the issue is and will be fixing it. It's not necessary to do a factory reset after but in scenarios like the above where you're having a few issues, I think it's a good thing to do after an update so it's fresh. 39 minutes ago, killi_34 said: Guten Abend. Alias 1aB
I had to factory reset after the firmware upgraded to .20. geo filter is working fine and the server shows up for COD on Xbox Series X. This new version of geo filter has some new features that seem useful. Will tinker with it more when I get time. From the couple of games I managed to sneak in, it looks like ping assist works a little different now. It seemed as it was adding latency to the connected server. Can anyone corroborate? That's great to hear! Ping Assist you can set a range so you can get games between 20 - 40 for example. Steady Ping adds ping to the connected server to create a buffer where ping spikes/fluctuations are absorbed, giving you a steady consistent ping throughout the entire game that gives you a smoother experience. This can be disabled by clicking Steady Ping at the top of the map, you can also adjust the buffer.
