CRarsenxL Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Hi all, My apartment complex has a ubiquiti PON it looks like. it also looks like there is a POE connection. that microtik router in the picture is no longer in use as my R2 is in its place. I get packet loss.. not sure why. It does have dynamic IP and the R2 retrieves it as 10.xx.xx.xx it also retrieves the preset dns they have 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 perfectly fine. ( I have also replaced all cables) anyone have tips?
CRarsenxL Posted December 1, 2023 Author Posted December 1, 2023 Would it be worth it to ask them if they can put the R2 IP 192.168.77.1 into their DMZ ?
CRarsenxL Posted December 1, 2023 Author Posted December 1, 2023 @RedBull2k @Newfie adding some big brains to see if they have any ideas the internet is 300/300 btw
CRarsenxL Posted December 1, 2023 Author Posted December 1, 2023 Note : it happens with my tp link router as well, so it’s not the r2. maybe it’s the setup of the r2? Dynamic Static etc… idk … I’m thinking their firewall is causing the packet loss
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 1, 2023 Administrators Posted December 1, 2023 Does the Ubiq have an interface you can access at all? If not it's likely something you'll need to contact the ISP about if it happens on another router

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 1, 2023 Administrators Posted December 1, 2023 Doesn't look like you can adjust anything. It's either the cable you're using from it to connect to the routers that is faulty, the box itself or somewhere on your line. They should have tests they can initiate to see where the issue may be. I swapped all the cables it is a POE gpon but that wouldn’t change anything right?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 1, 2023 Administrators Posted December 1, 2023 That could still be faulty, so no doesn't really change anything, worth giving them a call if you've definitely confirmed regardless of the router being used you're seeing the same results

Before the wan ip was internal 10.x however do I have to setup the Static IP on the r2?
