Hi all,

My apartment complex has a ubiquiti PON it looks like.

it also looks like there is a POE connection.

that microtik router in the picture is no longer in use as my R2 is in its place.

I get packet loss.. not sure why.

It does have dynamic IP and the R2 retrieves it as 10.xx.xx.xx

it also retrieves the preset dns they have 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 perfectly fine.

( I have also replaced all cables)

anyone have tips?

Note : it happens with my tp link router as well, so it’s not the r2.

maybe it’s the setup of the r2? Dynamic Static etc… idk … I’m thinking their firewall is causing the packet loss

Does the Ubiq have an interface you can access at all? If not it's likely something you'll need to contact the ISP about if it happens on another router

this is it

it probably does,

what should I ask them to do?

Doesn't look like you can adjust anything. It's either the cable you're using from it to connect to the routers that is faulty, the box itself or somewhere on your line. They should have tests they can initiate to see where the issue may be.

I swapped all the cables :(

it is a POE gpon but that wouldn’t change anything right?

Run PingPlotter a bd see what happens and report the findings back here

Hey so they were able to give me a static IP which allowed the R2 to receive the WAN IP and Public IP the same now. Before the wan ip was internal 10.x

however do I have to setup the Static IP on the r2?

That's not necessary to do
