Tmtmulisha Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 When trying to play with my friend who comes over we enable cross play and jump on. But it gives us a strict nat type because they both trying to use 3074 please help. If we try to play outbreak it just makes me lose connection to the host.
Knomax Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 From Xbox network menu change the port that console will use......etc. 24568....then portforward this port in router for Xbox. This will help i think.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 13, 2021 Administrators Posted March 13, 2021 Good advice above, that should work! Also if you've put your own console in the DMZ then take that out.
Tmtmulisha Posted March 13, 2021 Author Posted March 13, 2021 Thanks for the responses what do you mean port forward that port? Like I know open up the ports required I just never heard of port forward the port I pick in Xbox settings?

Try first by just changing the port on the Xbox itself - in most cases UPnP should then allow both consoles to get an open NAT. If not in LAN settings for Port forwarding add a rule for the Xbox and put the port you changed it to in source/destination and save.
Tmtmulisha Posted March 15, 2021 Author Posted March 15, 2021 ok got that problem fixed. Now my qos keeps going from devices to applications and resetting setup? And if it does keep it on devices it resets what i setup. thanks for all the help.

You'll need to make sure you're hitting 'Update distribution' after you make changes.
Tmtmulisha Posted March 15, 2021 Author Posted March 15, 2021 No it’s like if I log out and back in and I got update and save both.

Tmtmulisha Posted March 15, 2021 Author Posted March 15, 2021 correct when i close it entirely. and im on 3.0.205 and it seems to be with the app and duma os on my computer i deleted the app and it seems to work now?

OK glad to hear it, did you have both the app and the web interface open at the same time?
Tmtmulisha Posted March 16, 2021 Author Posted March 16, 2021 I possibly could have to be honest. I hit the home button on my iPhone but maybe it didn’t fully close it either I think it was my mistake not the duma.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 16, 2021 Administrators Posted March 16, 2021 Okay keep us posted if it happens again!
EGN EXILE Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 If I change the port on my Xbox and not use the 3074 port lime for example I have 49200 if I change it to that. To get an open nat for both so we can play if I just leave the Xbox on that port and play online by myself with the ps4 will this cause lag?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27, 2021 Administrators Posted March 27, 2021 No because it won't really be using any bandwidth so you should be good!
Tmtmulisha Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 Ok I was just trying to avoid switching the Xbox back and forth all the time.
Tmtmulisha Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 Any idea on why when my series x and ps4 are connected to the router and on my ps4 gets laggy like even on the dashboard. Offline fine on the internet laggy as all get out.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27, 2021 Administrators Posted March 27, 2021 In what sense is it laggy on the dashboard? I don't think that would be a router issue at all - are both being prioritized by Traffic Prioritization?
Tmtmulisha Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 Like it is shuddering like it almost looks like it’s skipping. And even when logging into Cold War under my PlayStation it says moderate nat type. And does the same shudder effect. And by traffic prioritization you talking about upnp? Then yes but there both trying to use 3074 udp port not sure if that matters or not?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27, 2021 Administrators Posted March 27, 2021 Disable the Geo-Filter, that can sometimes cause the NAT to report incorrectly. I mean on the QoS page under Traffic Prioritization - the port won't matter
Tmtmulisha Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 So should I add the PlayStation to the traffic prioritization because right now there is nothing there not even my series x. And should I leave all devices on when playing?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27, 2021 Administrators Posted March 27, 2021 Yes try adding them both with the Games Console service and disable DumaOS Classified Games - you can leave all devices on yes as if you'd adjusted Congestion Control it will ensure they don't cause you to lag
Tmtmulisha Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 Ok update that seems to have fixed the shuddering as of right now. But the ps4 still says moderate on Cold War saying it tried to use port 3074 currently its using port 9308. Series x using 3074.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27, 2021 Administrators Posted March 27, 2021 Was that with the Geo-Filter disabled? What does the PS4 say for NAT type in Internet Settings?
Tmtmulisha Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 Ok update I’m pretty sure it was either my hdmi or the port on my tv🤦🏻♂️ Thanks for all your help you guys are the best.
