Also ensure your Congestion Control is set to 'Always'. Please also ensure the speeds you've entered into QoS are accurate according to what you actually get from your ISP (Check on speedtest.net). Bear in mind that this will affect your overall speed test as you will be limiting your bandwidth.
ps21.850
i pay for 940 download and 42 upload
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 13, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 13, 2020 Use the Auto Setup feature on the Congestion Control option and experiment with the Advanced Settings to see what settings it lands on, then do a test and see what the results are. ps21.850
I have tried to use auto congestion control and advanced congestion control and no matter where I put the sliders my ping test under load stays a grade D
Netduma Liam
That's strange, even if you set the sliders down very low, like around 10%? I can also see that you're not quite up-to-date on firmware so it may also be worth upgrading to the latest firmware and seeing if this changes matters: https://kb.netgear.com/000062562/XR1000-Firmware-Version-1-0-0-
ps21.850
even if i set the sliders to 2% i still get D for my ping test under load and everthing else is A+. my internet speed is 940 down load and 42 upload
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 15, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 15, 2020 Thanks very much for the information, I don't believe that is actually what your connection is doing. I think it is a similar bug to what we're seeing on some of the other XR beta builds so I've raised it with the team to have them test this. ps21.850
Hey guys i just noticed when i go to speedtest.net im only getting 500-525 download and 20-25 upload speeds when coming out of the XR1000 but when i bypass the router and connect to my netgear 1150v cable modem i get 900-945 download and 35-43 upload. could this be the problem with my pingtest under load grade? Not an issue with the Ping Test Under Load results but more likely due to what you have set for Congestion Control which will throttle the speeds, if you put them up to 100% and redo speedtest.net you should get much closer to your expected speeds. ps21.850
Even at 100% i only get 500-525 download and 20-25 upload speeds. I have only had this xr1000 for about 5 days should i return it to bestbuy i get another xr1000?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 16, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 16, 2020 If you disable QoS fully from the Congestion Control 3 line option menu, what speeds do you get then? I assume you're testing wired?
ps21.850
Im getting 934 down 26.5 upload and my internet package is 940 down 42 upload. So what is causing my ping test under load to be so high?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 19, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 19, 2020 Okay that's good. Is it Benchmark itself, we're looking into it currently as it is reporting too high so you can ignore that for now as I highly doubt you'd be getting that with your speeds.
