With regards to point 4 I have the same issue , iSP is Sky.  Strange though if you look in device manager it does show IPv6 and 4  IP add but only shows IPv4 in the XBOX

Have you tried the previous advice of disabling IPv6 on the R2 in LAN/WAN, then apply, then enable, apply, then reboot both devices?

1. The R2 does indeed have a firewall, you can disable the one on the BT Smarthub if you'd like!

Ok thanks. I've now disabled the firewall in the BT Smarthub2 so will see if that resolves any issues. Do I need to do anything to activate the DumaOS firewall or is it on by default? Would having both firewalls active on the R2 and BT Smarthub2 possibly be related to the issues I've experienced with Double NAT and XBL party chat?

2. Do you have any devices with reserved IPs? If so, are they losing connection when the drops occur?

The only device with reserved IP (ie in the DMZ with "always use this IP" selected) in the BT Smarthub2 is the Netduma R2, and as such is the only device which loses connection (and subsequently all my other devices that are connected to the R2). I have increased the lease time on BT Smarthub2 to 21 days and 168 hours on the R2, however my understanding is that these should renew automatically without losing connection or resetting the IP regardless of the lease time. Like I said previously, I'd rather not be having to keep on eye on lease times and worry about the R2 dropping connection when the lease ends.

3. Usually you can just reserve an address for the R2 on the ISP router's (in this case BT) interface and it should work fine, but there's no harm in also entering it in Network Settings -> WAN on the R2 as well, see if that helps. I don't believe there's any further config you need to do with BT, but I'm not sure myself as I'm not with BT.

I've followed the instructions given by yourself and Fraser, however when I enter the R2 WAN IP, Subnet and Gateway, the R2 drops connection immediately after "save settings". As per my message above, do I need to complete either of the following additional settings in the R2: MTU, Mac Address Cloning, DNS Override?

I have also spoken to BT Support and they provided me with a PPPoE username (they gave me a password but couldn't be certain if it was correct). Would this be a better option to use in the R2 rather than DMZ or are both required? If I need to do this, then what would I need to enter in: Service, MTU, Mac Address Cloning, Use DNS Upstream, DNS Override?

4. I would advise rebooting both the R2 and the Xbox to be safe. If it's not too much hassle it may be worth disconnecting the Xbox, deleting it from device manager, re-connecting it and seeing if it recognises IPv6 from the R2.

I've done all of that but IPv6 still doesn't show on the Xbox. I've also read the following thread with an identical issue, and RedBull2k suggests that using PPPoE may work? https://forum.netduma.com/topic/34407-ipv6-curious/

5. We are currently investigating issues with Party chat, but as far as I'm aware party chat works fine on the R2 with Geo-filter disabled?

I still have Geo Filter and QoS disabled but unfortunately haven't been able to test XBL party chat yet, so will provide an update as soon as I know. Obviously I want to be able to use both of those services as well as being able to play and communicate otherwise having an R2 would be rather pointless.

Which devices do you mean to reboot as this was unclear? Is it the R2 and ISP router or R2 and Xbox...or just all of them?

DumaOS firewall is on by default - no way to adjust it currently. If the R2 is trying to open NAT for example or prioritize traffic then it is possible the BT hub firewall may block traffic. It should renew on its own yes without causing issues - the static IP is a good failsafe for this. Do any of the additional options show up red when you apply indicating they need to be filled in? Most likely you don't need to - possible MAC but only due to a potential issue there for us to fix. If you used PPPoE then you would need to disconnect the hub completely, this could be better for you yes so may be worth a try. I believe Liam meant the R2 and hub.

Are you saying that if PPPoE works then I can remove completely remove the BT Smarthub2? If that’s the case then I would definitely prefer that, but how would I connect the R2 to BT master socket as there isn’t a phone line port on the R2? (basically what’s the physical setup including cables?).

I don't have BT so couldn't say for certain but I believe you'd need to use an Openreach modem or use a converter to convert the RJ11 to RJ45 instead of the hub if you were to use PPPoE with the R2 and remove the hub.

Ok so you’re not certain it would work without the BT Smarthub2 or a modem?  In theory, would a simple RJ11 to RJ45 cable like this do the job:

rhinocables® RJ11 to RJ45 Ethernet Modem Data Telephone Cable ASDL Patch Lead (2m, Black) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MTEWGVD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_.OieGbX4NJP8Z

The hub will be handling PPPoE at the moment so by removing this it would fall on the R2 to handle that instead to get the connection. In theory, if the RJ11 goes into the wall and RJ45 into the R2 it should work but I have heard of people getting the Open reach modem when they remove the hub that's why I'm not certain on it.
