Connection Test failing

The speed test works but the ping test has 100% packet loss and "NaNms" for avg ping and jitter, and "NaNms" for all Ping Test (Under Load) results. What IP is the test pinging? What does "NaNms" mean?

R2 is connected directly to my virgin media broadband router which is in router mode - no other dives are connected to the virgin media device. R2 WAN is configured for DHCP. MLab's speed test works on a connected PC with 11ms ping and 0% data loss.

Hi david,

The Ping Test and Ping Test (Under Load) use Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8) as the target to ping. Is it possible that you cannot ping that ip for some reason?

If not, we will look more into the issue. Many thanks for notifying.

ICMP was blocked by virgin media router! Never noticed ping didn't work before other speed tests have always reported ping response times correctly. Fixed now and connection test is working. Thanks

Thanks @david, really glad you found that for us.

@Netduma Fraser @Netduma Alex @Netduma Admin Please be aware of this issue. If connection benchmark is giving weird results check if upstream router is blocking ICMP (ping)
