Jdennis1014
I have been playing BO4 online for months with no online issues. For the past week everything I log into BO4. And check my connection, I have a moderate connection. I unplug my router and plug it back and restart BO4 I have a open connection. Can someone tell me why this is happening. Featured Comment Dan Posted January 11, 2019 Featured Comment Share Posted January 11, 2019 BO4 does seem to get confused with its NAT. I sometimes see this and never had it before. Closing and opening BO4 resolves it for me. No need to reboot console or router.
Administrators Netduma Admin Posted January 11, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 11, 2019 The more reliable reading is your console's network test. If that shows as an Open NAT, and you have no problem chatting to friends / other players, then just ignore the in-game reading.
Jdennis1014
It’s just weird. I’m a solo player. So I don’t talk to anyone. I have notice when my connection is moderate I have really bad hit detection and the game feels sluggish. When I reset the router and see that open Nat my game play is a whole lot better. I have tried closing BO4 and and retesting but still have the moderate connection. The only way to get that open nat is by rebooting my R1. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 11, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 11, 2019 It's likely the reboot prompting it to open the ports again, you may be able to trigger it by doing a console speed test instead
Jdennis1014
I haven’t tried that I will try that next time if that does work. Will I need to change my up and download speeds on my R1?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 12, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 12, 2019 No you don't, just run the speed test/connection test in the console network settings
Dan
What is your physical set up? Is the R1 connected to a modern, modem-router combo or behind another router?
Jdennis1014
My setup is the R1 connected to a xfinity modem-router in bridge mode. Now when I test my speed on my PS4 Pro. I’m getting low speed numbers. Smh..... Download speed 38.6 Upload speed 2.

Download speed 38.6 Upload speed 2.0 Console speed tests are renown for being inaccurate, but your testing conditions for full speeds are also probably not in place. To find out if you're receiving your full speeds you'd need to disable QoS or set Anti-Bufferbloat to 100 (with Always mode enabled) and run your test on a wired PC. Have you got your R1 in the DMZ of your Xfinity?

Download speed 38.6 Upload speed 2.0 I wouldn't necessarily link poor speeds to NAT issues Have you got upnp turned on ? Are ports opened and pointing to your console (you should see 9308 and 3074) with BO4 running? If no upnp are you port forwarding R1 in the DMZ is a good tip
Dan
Does your console have a static IP address too ( makes life just that little bit easier)
Jdennis1014
No UPNP is not on, and no to port forwarding. I was told these steps are not nessasary. All I had to don was put my modem /router in bridge mode and add my console to the netduma and be good to go. I have not mess with no other setting in the R1
Jdennis1014
I’m not sure what u mean by a Static IP up address. I have never setup a static up address.
Jdennis1014
What information from the R1 do I need to put in the DMZ of your Xfinity?
Dan
Turn upnp on in the R1 boot up the game go online to the lobby menu. Check network options - is NAT open? If not what is the upnp showing in the R1

Yeh don't worry too much - you've got the right idea in keeping everything as simple as possible. That's usually how you get your network flowing well DMZ could help in this case so I'll talk you through it. Go to System Information on DumaOS and find your WAN IP. That's all you need, so copy that. Then go to your Modem interface, and paste your WAN IP into the DMZ section. Usually that can be found in security or firewall settings on a Modem. I hope this helps
Jdennis1014
Jack, Ok in the DMZ section on my xfinity do I have to put the WAN IP number in the DMZ v4 and DMZ v6? See attach pic as a reference.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 17, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 17, 2019 It's the v4 one as there are only 4 places in the IP address x.x.x.x
Jdennis1014
Thanks I will add this information to my xfinity router /modem. By doing this will just keep my NAT open. Does it serve any other purpose?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 17, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 17, 2019 No it doesn't serve any other purpose, it basically forwards all ports to the router to ensure no port conflicts
Jdennis1014
Ok in my network setting on my netduma in the UPNP settings. The UPNP setting is not enabled on my netduma r1. I have 2 descriptions showing my ps4 pro and demonware port mapping with 93080 and 3074 ports list
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 17, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 17, 2019 You should enable UPnP on the R1, it still needs to know what ports devices need. That sounds correct
Jdennis1014
Fraser, To make sure we on the same page turn on UPnP and put WAN IP in theDMZ xfinity router
