PPPoE and VPN

hello,

quick question for the XR500 and the new firmware update.

Is it possible if the XR500 is handling the PPPoE connection to establish a Hybrid VPN  connection too or it cant do both at the same time?

It can handle pppoe and a vpn connection no problem. I have a pppoe connection and use a vpn also.

strange, cause the R1 couldn't and admins said no router can do both. and when i setup my VPN while it's already doing PPPoE , it's just stuck at "connecting" but never connects. I guess i'll try again

I don't know why admin would say you cannot connect to a vpn when using pppoe, I have done it for years! I take it your are referring to a vpn client?

when i had the R1, admins asked me to use the modem as PPPoE and enter the VPN info on the R1 as both can not be on the R1. no idea why but this is what they said back then

Usually the VPN Provider will have a section on their website where you can download config files. You want to get the config file for Linux on the server you want to connect to. 

Using a web search, I was able to find the config files: https://www.ivpn.net/releases/config/ivpn-openvpn-config.zip - hopefully these are compatible.

Awesome, if I end up getting it which will probably be the next time it's on sale, I'll try this out and let you know how it ends up working. Appreciate the quick feedback.
