PINGTEST.NET GRADING FOR PING RESULTS:

GRADE A  -  Excellent  = a ping below 50 ms with 0% packet loss

GRADE B   - Very Good  = a ping around 90 ms with 0% packet loss

GRADE C - Acceptable = a ping around 150 ms with 1% packet loss

GRADE D - Concerning = a ping around 300 ms with 3% packet loss

GRADE F - Very Poor =  a ping above 500 ms with 20% packet loss

So does this mean anything below 50ms is really insignificant.  What does everyone think?

Yeah Buck, Any results below 50ms as long as you have 0% packet loss is excellent.

Remember, a Ping result is something specific to the server you are connecting to. Say you got 49ms ping with pingtest, for example, it doesn't mean that is what you will get for everything you do on the internet.

Obviously the lower the better with 0 packet loss, testing via CMD using 8.8.8.8 or the duma diagnositics gives normaly better results than a speed tester because google own servers around the world that are usualy quite close to you in most cases.

The ping will be lower the better the routing used by the isp is.
