FLEX_Jastrzebie Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 I have a question where in DumaOS will change DNS servers? In my network settings, I have not found this option unless DNS Override is what I am looking for?
raf1212 Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 it's probably not in beta, it adds dns google automatically, but I'm not sure
PharmDawgg Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Yes if you are trying to enter your own dns servers slide the button under dns override then it will allow you to enter them below. I use 1.1.1.1/1.0.0.1.
FLEX_Jastrzebie Posted October 29, 2018 Author Posted October 29, 2018 when entering DNS 1.1.1.1 and checking them at http://www.whatsmydnsserver.com it shows me that I'm using DNS Google From what I found in the network, DNS Override is something related to Apple products. This feature does not work. I entered DNS 1.1.1.1 directly in the settings of my network card in my computer and only then http://www.whatsmydnsserver.com/ showed DNS from Cloudflare.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 29, 2018 Administrators Posted October 29, 2018 DNS Override is what you want. Make sure your upstream router doesn't have a custom DNS set as well as that could be the issue

Make sure your upstream router doesn't have a custom DNS set as well as that could be the issue For me it does not work, unfortunately. I made a reset to my modem / router's factory settings from the service provider and set it in modem mode. DumaOS restored to the factory settings and I performed the test on the website http://www.whatsmydnsserver.com/ where it did not show me DNS google only the DNS of my service provider. Then I set up DNS servers 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 on DumaOS but while doing the test at http://www.whatsmydnsserver.com/, I was showing DNS from Cloudflare for a while. At the next test attempt, it showed the DNS of my service provider. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 29, 2018 Administrators Posted October 29, 2018 Okay thanks for the information, will pass it on to the devs
Kevin.pal Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 Wouldn’t you put the dns server on PS4 network settings?

Kevin.pal Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 I can’t place a different dns on the newest beta 3.0. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Should I change my dns on my isp first?

It's most likely the issue where you need to input the router MAC address first and then save it - you can find the MAC on the underside of the router. Then you can enter your DNS and save.
Kevin.pal Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 My isp MAC address or my netduma MAC address
Kevin.pal Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 I think you ment the Duma. Does my isp need to have the same dns server too?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 7, 2021 Administrators Posted February 7, 2021 Yes the R1 MAC address. Have you got the R1 in its DMZ? If so then it's fine you don't need to input it there as well.
