Guest Killhippie
I am getting very conflicted with what's going on firmware wise. Are we meant to go back to 2.2.1.10 or stick with 2.3.2.18. A definitive answer would be really useful.
BIG__DOG
I already answered you question in a pm you sent me. I advised downgrading back to 2.2.1.10 until the fixes are made to the latest firmware that netgear need to correct. I also said it was your choice. I wanted this space to be a place where people could get maybe a more definitive answer. After chatting with you, and someone within Netgear who also informed me the new version has been pulled from the Auto update and manual GUI update mechanism for the XR500 maybe it would be prudent to downgrade 'just in case' Obviously something is going on with UPnP and considering that its a bit of a security risk at the best of times caution may be advisable here. Maybe Fraser could chip in here with his view?

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 6, 2018 Administrators Share Posted June 6, 2018 The only persistent issue you may have on the new firmware is UPnP but some people have simply found the table just doesn't populate with entries but still opens their NAT. It's possible the NAT issue caused the wiping of device names which then caused the Geo-Filter error but those can be fixed be renaming device/reconnecting it or a factory reset. So really I think it comes down to personal preference. There are bug fixes and small new features for the Geo-Filter on the latest so if UPnP is not affecting you then you could stay on that. Otherwise theres no issues going back to the previous firmware while this is resolved.
rckrz6
upnp works fine, it doesn't populate the table, thats fine i don't look at it anyways There are way to many threads about the same topic
nytemare01
My consoles do not connect via upnp and it shows in the network statistics of my xbox one x "upnp not available" with a strict nat. Also my PS4 has a strict nat, so for me its not just a case of it not populating in the table.
