hi  whenever the geo filter is on there is input delay and it is hard to find match . even when the geo filter covers the whole world it's still very slow  thanks

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

As it’s a new game it won’t be fully supported yet, try disabling strict mode and see if you find a game quicker also, try using ping assist as well, run internet diagnostics to find out what your base ping is. if you set the ping assist value lower than your base ping then ping assist won’t find any games. If you need need any help with that feel free to post your internet diagnostics results here.

As for input delay, the geofilter won’t have any effect on that. EA games seem to have a lot of issues with input delay. If your opponent has a bad connection then what you will actually be seeing when input delay seems worse is lag. If UFC3 uses P2P matchmaking then you can block any players with bad connections using the Allow & Deny feature. If it uses dedicated servers then you can use the temp ban feature to stop yourself connecting to that particular server for a period of time.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

As blues said it's not been tested with the Geo-Filter so I would recommend disabling it for now. Make sure you have Anti-Flood set to 70% for both download & upload. As well as putting your console in hyper traffic.

Any chance you'll know when or if it will be getting updated? because geo filter is the reason i bought the netduma. i keep getting matched with americans and australians now lol

It's on Frasers list but he's pretty busy at the moment so he's unsure when he'll get to test it I'm afraid.

Thanks for the reply! Take it the netduma will be goin back in the box lol was actually gonna go buy the new nighthawk lol thank god i left it. Would have been gutted

You can still take advantage of congestion control to eliminate any local congestion and Hyper-Traffic will make sure your gaming packets are sent out first. Even with the geofilter disabled you can still get useful information from it like the location and ping of any hosts/servers you are playing on.

As Blues said, the congestion control features will really help your connection and the Geo-Filter will allow you to see the server locations as well.

Let us know if we can help with anything else too.

Yeh does'nt stop me connecting to those guys though.I have a perfectly good linksys wrt 3200acm with QOS on it and my games run flawlessly! so in all honesty it's a waste of money if i can't use the geo filter to block American,Australian,Japanese hosts which is where all the dedi server are to my knowledge. i only play 2 games. Infinite warfare and ufc. EA ufc 2 was perfect and i racked up over 5000 fights using netduma  unhealthy i know lol  but this game runs terrible on netduma! when i swap it over 2 even just the modem it's flawless.  Is there even an estimate to when it will be usable?

It doesn't sound like the server location is your issue because if it was then even without using the Geo-Filter you would get the same experience between modem, wrt & R1. It sounds to me that the most likely cause is Congestion Control is not setup correctly. If you provide the screenshots asked for here: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022425-lag-support-instructions-to-post-on-the-forum-we can best advise. Also what is your physical setup?

I'm not sure where you're located, possibly the UK based on your time zone then the Geo-Filter wouldn't be of any help anyway as you're saying there are no servers near your location anyway, is that right?

Based in uk  my linksys is behind the r1 being used only as an access point  i've had my r1 for over a year. Set up exactly as it shows on here for my speeds with no problem i've used just modem and get perfect connection most games  i've used modem to linksys and get perfect connection most games. As soon as i use netduma from modem with this game and only this game the lag is terrible! And i cant find a game!  Dedi server in Ireland,East Coast America,Brazil,Australia maybe another i'm not sure  all laggy as you know with EA servers! so i've no option but to temp ban them and go p2p and take my chances. And that's why i use netduma for geo filter only as it's the main selling point for probably 90% of users. And the only reason i bought it! if i knew there would be a waiting list on games where i can't even get an answer to a time period i would'nt  have bothered!

Hi Millar - in theory, the Geo-Filter should work fine because EA sports use similar servers across all their games. What we do need is the 'IDs' of the different servers, so we can make sure they are in the correct location.

We can quickly get this game optimized for you if you give us the IDs of the servers you have been temp banning. Let us know where they are approximately in the world and the ID. For example:

ID - California - 100ms

We can then put these in our next cloud update to make your experience much better.

Also, where are the best servers for you located? I think you should be able to boot up the game with the Geo-Filter covering the entire world, and then reduce it once the game has loaded to the best area for you.

california-180.0ms

japan-290.0ms

ireland-40.0ms

the ireland one should obviously be good enough but is really laggy!  so basically they're all pretty much unplayable, but if i temp ban them i can hardly find a game! will this help me find more p2p connections once ea ufc 3 has been added to list?

Thanks. Do you have the Host Descriptor IDs for these? They will look a little bit like this 'af56fcc7f34e181d'

It's worth saying that the goal of the Geo-Filter is to get you the best possible ping that the game offers. Sometimes though the game itself won't even have a single decent server depending on where you're located - and the EA servers across Europe are among the most unreliable. We guarantee the best connection possible, but often there will be problems with the game net-code or servers that need to be fixed by the game developers rather than us. We'll see if there's anything we can do with these ID's though!

If you tick 'Strict Mode' and set your radius quite small over your home location (without the Ireland server inside it) does that allow you to connect P2P instead?

When i keep my home radius small and exclude Ireland it takes around 5 to 6 minute to get a match during the day  haven't tried at night   there's 8000 people playing ranked at the moment i'd guess mostly european  because of time difference, it's not even trying to match me outside radius that often.

Thanks for providing those ID's, that's really useful for us until we manage to extensively test this game. It seems like UFC is similar to CoD in that it favours dedicated servers over P2P though features both. Unfortunately when the game is trying desperately to connect you to a dedicated server it can be hard to force a P2P connection, and you end up relying on the game developers improving their server infrastructure.

If you haven't checked it out already, I'd recommend keeping an eye on this site: http://downdetector.com/status/ea. UFC isn't listed on there though it'll definitely use the same servers - you can use that page to check if there are any ongoing problems.

I'd recommend trying the CoD Ultimate profile. Ignore the name - this profile could help you to connect to lower ping games since it relies solely on Ping Assist. Let me know if this helps :)

We have put out a cloud update for dedicated & whitelisted servers. Incorrect servers will be done tomorrow. So these servers are included.

If you're blocking all the available servers for the game then it will substantially increase your search times. Set the best radius for you balancing search times vs very good connection as not many people play the game.

Might also want to let people know before they buy that there's a waiting list for games to be in working order! but there's no timeline because you're busy with duma os  lol  what a joke that was!  so much for the cloud update i  could'nt find a single game for a half hour!  unplugged netduma  went straight to modem BOOM 15 seconds i get a game with a guy 200 miles away  wtf!   ask a question get 10 back  all smoke and mirror to hide the fact that the router itself is a piece of low quality junk!   but the reply  he's too busy with os to add any new games for me was the nail in the coffin for you guys!  anybody who buys the netduma will tell you they bought it for the geo filter and not the quality and when you're told the developers to busy right now to maintain the router  because they busy with os pfffffff  come on seriously
