Edgerouter x > netduma moderate nat help

Recommended Posts

Hey guys.

I been running the edge router x as my main router(i like some of its features)

with the netduma plugged into it and my ps4 plugged into the netduma..

If i plug my ps4 into either one individually i get open nat,but with the current setup i am getting moderate.not to mention it took me literally 8 hrs to figure this edge router out and there forum SUCKS.

anyway just seeing if any of you guys have any experience with the combo?i have tried disabling upnp2 on the edgemax and enabling it on netduma and vice versa.

any info would be greatly apreciated

Ok. What you are going to have to do is make sure the Netduma is plugged into one of the lan ports of the edge router and the the wan port of the R1.

The R1 will recognize that it is connected to another router and not a modem. The edgerouter will then issue an ip address to the R1. Leave the dhcp server on in the R1. Let it continue to issue ip addresses. Now everything behind the R1 will have a different ip address.(i.e. your PlayStation) this is ok.

Now here’s the difficult part. Somehow you have got to place the R1 in the edgerouter dmz. Which I think is easier said than done on the edgerouter.

I had an edgerouter lite and could never figure it out.

I had used this to get DMZ setup on multiple connections I had with the ERL. Always worked, Give it a try,

Just do port forwarding on the edge 1024-65535 TCP/UDP to the IP of the R1 then you should be good.

Sounds like double NAT.

Check your WAN IP in both separately. If you see a local IP (for example 192.168.x.x) in one of them, then you have two devices performing NAT.

actually i looked again i see a local ip under my netduma wan ip
