tellto
Hello All, I have already said my setup multiple times but I'll just say it again. I have all my devices connected wifi to the AT&T Modem 1 gb download and 1 gb upload. My ps4 is the ONLY thing connected to my netduma. The reason I ave my devices connected to the modem is because the duma can't handle 1gb download & 1gb upload. So I shouldn't change my congestion control because it won't make a difference? And my miscellaneous settings? And should I use hyper traffic? I am going to grind WWII so I would like the most ideal settings for me. I also have my geofilter set to 830 kilometers with 30 m/s ping assist. I live in NC. Should I change this as well? I have screeshots of my settings in the post before this "my setup pt.2"

With one device, these features will not make a difference. You'll still be able to make full use of the Geo-filter however, which will still give you the best ping possible and full control over the hosts you're connecting to. Your Geo-filter settings sound good - we usually recommend Strict Mode on and Ping Assist at 0, with a 1500km distance. Really though, these settings are down to your location and preference based on experience. tellto
Hey Jack, I'm getting into games where I am the only one on a 3 bar. Everyone else is on a 4 bar. This has never happened before. I am doing what you suggested and it was working great before today. 1500 km range and 0 PA.
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted November 22, 2017 Netduma Staff Share Posted November 22, 2017 Hey Jack, I'm getting into games where I am the only one on a 3 bar. Everyone else is on a 4 bar. This has never happened before. I am doing what you suggested and it was working great before today. 1500 km range and 0 PA. What is your ping to the game? I wouldn't place too much trust in the bars in online games - the ping graph is a far more accurate indicator of what's happening. If you mean that once you changed your settings to what I suggested your gameplay has gotten worse, definitely change it back to your previous setup. I would recommend running an Internet Diagnostics test and finding out if you have spikes / jitter etc. Also, is your gameplay actually bad? If your gameplay is fine but you're on 3 bars, I wouldn't worry about it - judge everything by your ping and gameplay.
tellto
No im still going about 50-14 maintaining about a 2.30 kd. On the Duma ping graph, its spiking from 30-110and back down. It's really weird. When I changed to the geofilter u suggested, my games were perfect with perfect hit detection till yesterday night. Other than that, it was fine. Hm, well I'd put the ping spikes down to a common graphics bug - if you switch tabs or perform various actions using your browser with the ping graph open, it can 'build up' and spike the next time you look at it. It shouldn't be what is actually occurring if your gameplay is fine. Honestly I think you've got it good compared to many - at least your gameplay feels great! My modem is also connected to the other netgear power adapter. The reason im doing this is because my duma is too far from the modem to connect it with an ethernet cable itself. do you think this is fine? I use powerline adapters as do many others, although they aren’t as good as being directly wired to the router they are far better than gaming on WiFi tellto, ColonicBoom and Netduma Jack

pollutionblues
Where are the servers you are connecting to with the geo filter off compared to when you have it enabled? ColonicBoom
tellto
Where are the servers you are connecting to with the geo filter off compared to when you have it enabled? the servers are usually about the same distance. 900 k/m- 1500 k/m. its really weird. I went 55-14 and then 60-8 in two games straight. I checked and saw my geofilter was off. I turned it back on and it's back to the same crap. should i try COD ultimate profile? pollutionblues

Even if you had left the geo-filter off after those good games you would still have gotten the bad games. The geo-filter only stops you connecting to games outside your radius, it does nothing to hit detection, I know sometimes it may feel like turning the geo-filter off has done something to the hit detection but it’s purely coincidence, bad games are usually down to other players in the lobby with bad connections. WWII is really inconsistent, I went 30-2 in FFA earlier today then in the next game (on exactly the same server) I went 11-22, the only thing different from the previous game was 2 different players in the lobby. Defiantly try the COD ultimate profile, let me know how you get on ColonicBoom and Netduma Jack

The advice above is spot on, so I'd recommend giving the CoD ultimate profile a go (since it functions pretty perfectly on previous CoD titles) and let us know your thoughts

RL317
I can't even find servers right now. Running no filter with just 30ms ping assist, or my filter over the UK only, and it's purely crap jittering player hosts. Great host choice logic... Not that the game plays any better on servers anyway. I got 250ms to Argentinian hosts in the beta and it plays the same on 7ms lmfao

If you had save a generic profile before changing then load that. Could use the general gaming profile but may not have the exact settings you want. Otherwise just change the settings manually, will take 2 seconds.
