thewilloxdiaz Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 I have a Netgear router with a powerfull wifi signal and i wanna know if its possible to conect it to the netduma ports to share the internet to all the house and all other devices to connect to that network and hide the netduma´s wifi signal to prevent lag while im gaming. My netduma is connected to a docsis 3.0 Arris cable modem.
Alex49H Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Yes you can. You would put your Netgear router in AP mode (Access Point), should be under Advanced Settings I think.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 13, 2016 Administrators Posted December 13, 2016 Absolutely. Modem > R1 (WiFi off) > Netgear AP mode
fuzzy clam Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I use to have a dual router set up and as stated above, as long as it's in AP mode you'll be good to go. If you don't know how to put it in AP mode, just check the manual or google your router's model number.
jeremyg237 Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Ok, so I do not want to put my Netgear in Ap mode. I currently have my setup like this: Modem(SB6183)> Netgear Nighthawk R7000>Switch>Netduma. I am keeping the night gear as the primary router because of parental controls as well as 200 Mbps down and 12 up for WiFi etc. I am getting open Nat on XBOX one but moderate in games. My question is, I am trying to get ipv4 and 6 on my XBOX one. Currently I can only get ipv4 and I do not want to put the Netduma into the DMZ because I have my computer as well hooked up to the Netduma to mess with setting etc during games. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have already tried DMZ and it did not work. I also have UPNP on. Thanks again.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 21, 2016 Administrators Posted December 21, 2016 In terms of DMZ you're fine to put the R1 in it because it has it's own Firewall. Then I would disable UPnP forwarding from miscellaneous settings. For game NAT try the following: http://forum.netduma.com/topic/18942-infinite-warfare-ports-for-xbox-one-and-ps4/or you may need to manually port forward instead and disable UPnP.
jeremyg237 Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Im more concerned with ipv6. I feel if I can get that I will be good to go.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 22, 2016 Administrators Posted December 22, 2016 If your ISP provides you with an IPv6 address and it's enabled on the Netgear just enable it in LAN, WAN & misc settings.
AI_EXREYFOX Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Hello Fraser my ISP provides me a ipv6 address and it works if i connect my laptop and xbox one with out netduma. But when i connect netduma to control my laptop and xbox one i don´t have ipv6 address My ISP router is a HUAWEI HG8247Q
PharmDawgg Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Make sure IPv6 is enabled under WAN, LAN and Settings/Miscellaneous. Then I would power down your network. Wait about 3 to 5 min and power up in this order -Modem, Router, etc. And about a min between each. And any devices that are connected to you're network (wifi that is) forget the network and reconnect them to it. Hope this makes sense.
AI_EXREYFOX Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Don´t work any idea!! My ISP is Vodafone and i have a Huawei HG8247Q and the only ipv6 menu is map ipv6 port
