Jumppy_15
Hi, if I want to find games "only" using Ping Assist, how would I do it? Should I put the Geo-Filter circle in the Ocean at it's lowest distance level (zero) or do I need the circle in the Ocean to have some minimum distance (Eg 80 miles)? Also, do I need to have Strict Mode on or off? Thanks in advance!
PharmDawgg
Yes just place you Geofilter in the ocean with the smallest radius. Strict mode on. Then set your ping assist at your baseline ping.
Jumppy_15
Thanks Buck Nasssty, I've been trying that but I can't seem to connect into any Infinite Warefare games, I even put my Ping Assist value all the way up to 100 just to test it. And with the Geo Filter over the Ocean and strict mode off I can't connect to any games. I see the Yellow Exclamation signs on the map, which means the hosts are out of my Geo-filter range but shouldn't I still connect to them with my ping? Help anyone...? Slipknot31286sic6
As stated ping assist doesn't work. U can post 1 on 1 with Fraser. Since he claims it works. He knows magic. No one else here but admins claims it works in IW. Bo3 worked perfectly. Only miles /km distance works in IW. Which has nothing to do with ping. Let us know if u get it to work. Some ppl put in 30 with miles at 1000km. But if you look at graph for peers, server maybe 30ms. People in lobby aren't no where near that.

OK I have just tried this and it works fine, It took a little longer to find a game but to say it doesn't work is flat out wrong. Once again you seem to be spreading false information. Plus the R1 cannot and does not claim to put you in lobbies with players of a similar ping. It can connect you to a server within your ping range. So if there are people in the lobby on the same server with a higher ping that is out of your control.

RoyDavis77
Ping assist works for me in the ocean and set to 30-35ms, sometimes i find games quicker that way then having my geofilter around the uk and ping assist off, i can find games with ping assist set to 14ms but takes a while longer. If you're having problems, Slipknot, and you're concerned about Fraser unleashing the dark arts on you, then create a support thread and I will try to resolve it the old-fashioned way (by thinking, testing and stuff like that). If you already have one then link me to it. Bags has just tested it on PS4, I haven't tried it on Xbox but I'm sure it'll work fine, I'll test it tomorrow (because it's 2am now) and confirm. If it doesn't work for me then I will inform the magic circle and we will work it out. If it does work then we'll know that you're failing to utilise it properly. Once I can confirm, you have two options: Create a support thread and we will work to resolve your problem. Or don't create a support thread and shut up. Either way, if you continue to add unhelpful comments to support threads rather than create your own, then I expect you can guess what comes after a warning. It sounds like you're also accusing us of being shills. You know this isn't true so I can only assume that you're trying to antagonise. Do it again and it will result in the same outcome as above but quicker. Thanks Roy, it's good to have a non-mod add their experience after that. Wish I could set mine that low - damned buttload of interleaving on my line at least doubles my PA value over yours

Hi Jumppy, I'll check it out and get back to you as I will be hitting IW hard tomorrow. In the mean time can you post up a pick of your Geo Filter settings for us? (the ones you are currently using while seeing this issue). Also, in case you're not aware, when you change your Geo filter settings there is a 2 minute activation delay as an anti-cheat measure. Make sure you factor that in when changing things on the Geo filtering page.

Jumppy_15
Hi, attached are the pictures of my Host Filtering page, it shows Geo-Filter is "enabled" and Strict Mode is "on" with the Circle over the Ocean and I set my Ping Assist all the way up to 100ms to try and connect into a game but it still does not connect. I would love some 1 on 1 support if possible.
bagsta69
Try turning off console totally, not standby but off. Set geo filter as you want it. On misc page make sure enable cookies is ticked and reboot from misc settings menu. Boot up console, load game and search for a game. If it's IW try searching for a game of core tdm first as this is the most populated.
Dillinger
I would agree with Bagsta above. Have the gaming console completely off Set up the Netduma as you have, with Cookies ticked and Strict mode enabled Then boot up the console and search for a game* ** I have used this model to play locally and remote camp dedicated boxes in Black Ops 3 on both platforms (XB1 and PS4) with great success. I haven't tried it with IW, but I suspect it would work in the same fashion as Activision isn't sourcing "new" locations or boxes when the titles change each November. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 9, 2016 Administrators Share Posted December 9, 2016 As well as what everyone else has said zoom out on the map as to see if there is anything showing.
Jumppy_15
Hi guys, thanks for all the responses! I followed all the steps as suggested above (Cookies on, Strict Mode enabled and Rebooted the Router from the Misc Settings page) and I had to increase the Ping Assist gradually all the way up to 200 ms until I connected into a game. But surely there has to be lower ping games out there. I live in Miami and I know Florida has some Dedi servers. When I run the ping test on the "Internet Diagnostics" page my max Ping is 29 ms. ColonicBoom
But surely there has to be lower ping games out there. I live in Miami and I know Florida has some Dedi servers. When I run the ping test on the "Internet Diagnostics" page my max Ping is 29 ms. I would have thought so too. When you connect to this host, with your PA value set at 200ms, what is your ping to the host on the Geo filter page? That 'Diagnostics' ping is to Google so if you're near one of Google's DNS servers(?) then it will be a decent ping like you're seeing - but it doesn't necessarily have any bearing on your ping to the dedi. edit - IW works a bit differently too. It seems to pick a player as the lobby host then chucks everyone onto a dedi at the last minute, which is why people get kicked sometimes if the lobby's player-host is within the Geo/PA but the dedi is not. Still, PA of 200ms on IW is high, I'm about to get on now so I'll check out what sort of PA values work for me (in the UK).
ColonicBoom
Haven't forgotten, still testing... I can get games at 50ms PA at the moment but it should be lower than that as I'm only 70 miles from the dedi. I think the lobby player-host is adding to the problems because your ping to them won't necessarily be as low as your ping to the dedi.

Slipknot31286sic6
Been jacking around with PA all day to see since everyone says it works. Must be peer based not server. I have a server in my backyard practically. So it's 20ms or less away. I can't go under 50 PA. Or I can't get a game. Not gonna sit here for 5 mins or longer for a game to pop up. Even then was still waiting on players. With 50ms PA. Took about 3 mins everytime to find a game. Any lower. Nothing. Sad. Wasn't like this in bo3 So we are to assume 50 PA is good for IW when 2 servers are 20 ms from us... OK then. For me to get this to work was turn off system and router let it sit 5 mins after I loaded cod ultimate profile. Then wait for IW to find games. Hope this helps. Anyone else. With PA off and 300 distance I find games soon as I click find match. Odd. Also every game I use 50 PA. I get kicked out of game after completed . Strict on. Wasn't like this with PA off. I can play same lobby again and again. Guess now test is it worth to have on 50 PA vs 300 miles. Long weekend Update PA won't work In party when I'm host and 50ms. If I'm solo that works. Pointless to me. If u have no friends PA works
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 12, 2016 Administrators Share Posted December 12, 2016 I will make sure to test this over the coming days - especially with the new updates it is worth making sure it's all running smoothly anyway. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 14, 2016 Administrators Share Posted December 14, 2016 For ping assist it did work for me. Just a few notes though, I did have to put my ms to around 50ms to compensate for players pings. It took a little longer to get a game, maybe 1-2 minutes but then I always got a game that was way under my ms limit. So I would recommend if you want to use PA exclusively that you find the lowest ms that allows you to get into a game.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 27, 2016 Administrators Share Posted December 27, 2016 Would this result imply that IW's matchmaking is hybrid p2p? They use P2P to host the lobby then move over to dedicated server for the actual game.
