Syzygy
Hello, I recently purchased a NetDuma less than a week ago, and since installing it I noticed that I rarely have a green bar connection while playing Destiny. Before I hooked up the ND, I always had full green. I've read through several related forum topics before registering to create my own, and I've tried all of the suggested methods, but I'm still constantly lagging. I've reset the CC feature and run speed tests with the sliders at 100% and 70%; it made no difference. I've made sure the necessary boxes are checked or unchecked (UPnP, deep packet processing, enabled Turbo and Super-Turbo mode, Xbox is in Hyper-Traffic, reactive algorithm because I should have ~200Mbits, etc.) Nothing is working to get rid of this yellow/red bar situation; this all the time, not just during peak hours. I've tried everything that has been suggested to other folks with the same issues; I'm not sure where to go from here. I love the geo-filter feature on the NetDuma, but it's not worth the connection/lag issues that have come with the router so far.

AlsaibaiH
If you have a good enough connection. You might want to see if anyone else is connecting to the main modem. Also your isp could be throttling your connection. The problem is there are infinite possibilities as to what may go wrong in your connection. My suggestion for any netduma setup: Main isp router : Disable wifi, connect netduma via ethernet. Enable upnp . Set Static DMZ for your netduma. Netduma : Secure wifi, set proper bandwith and choose appropriate turbo settings. Enable UPNP. Still facing problem? Call ISP tell them to fix their shizzles. Syzygy
I bought my own modem and set it up through the ISP. The only thing connected to the modem is the R1, and then from there I have the console and my PC. I disconnected the router and hooked my PC directly up to the modem and did a speed test. It's tested at, or above, the speeds I'm paying at peak hours. I should have 200Mbit, I tested at ~230. Once I hook up the R1 to the modem and then the PC to the R1, my speeds drop to ~50. I don't think it's the ISP.
AlsaibaiH
Do you have the turbo option ticked in misc.? + Make sure cookies is ticked . and may I ask for your region ? Cause if you are asia you should give up on trying to get 100 or less ping.
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted September 13, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted September 13, 2016 Welcome to the forum! We'd recommend using the Destiny profile for that game, and it sounds like your settings are incorrect for your speeds. We'd recommend these settings for 200mb connections; - Reactive Algorithm - 100% anti-flood - Share excess enabled - Reset device prioritisation & apply - Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc - Disable deep packet in misc - Enable turbo mode - Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds. - Do a wired speed test from a PC

AlsaibaiH you have UPNP enabled on your isp modem/router and DMZ active? Do you have any problem with NAT or Doble Nat??

I do not have any problems with double nat. The way I am using it is having all routers with dmz and upnp on and they are about 3 routers to my room. and this is the only way to get open. thats for me atleast
AI_EXREYFOX
In my case i have 2 . One Gateway DSL-N55U (modem/router) with ip duma in DMZ and UPNP off. One Netduma with UPNP on And i have open NAT , but i have some lag in destiny and bo3, i will try your setup and see if i have better games. AlsaibaiH
Well here is the thing... if there is a point in your network that is connected from something other than net duma you will have lag. As long as you can regulate every device on your network and your ISP service is stable you should have a good experience unless you are in the MENA region where no game has a dedi server or proper support for this region. antithesis
Use Pingplotter to see if there are any sources of lag being introduced upstream and take it up with your ISP. Use DSLreports to see if there's any lag being introduced within your local network and tweak Congestion Control accordingly. Setup your Geofilter to 1000km or less for Distance and the Ping Assist to 50ms. That'll block most red bar players from connecting to you and will improve the quality of the entire lobby, making it less likely that you'll suffer a red bar in return. I use the Netduma's Host Filtering for Destiny and very, very rarely do I have a red bar. It's usually thanks to a fireteam member from Mexico when I'm in Australia (sometimes it's fun to play with friends). My Destiny KDR over the last 3 months is nudging 2 on my Hunter, which is ok for a man the wrong side of 40. My point is that bullets go where I put them, thanks largely to the Netduma creating crispy lobby connections.
AlsaibaiH
I wouldn't say its that perfect. Netduma can't fix other peers connection but can only help yours. * I just tried yours and I got 2 red bars in my lobby teleporting everywhere ! *
Syzygy
Also, how do I tell which profile is 'active' at the time? When I select and apply Destiny as my profile it loads up just fine, but if I leave profile menu and go to CC or Geo-Filter for a minute and then go back to profile it shows the 'General Gaming' profile again. AI_EXREYFOX
i think my problem is my internet speed 4mbs download / 1mbs upload, i live in portugal and my ping to server in dublin, amterdam and frankfurt are about 50~55 ms. i will post some image from pingplotter

It is NOT sufficient if the household uses this connection for all the other devices at home.

Netduma can't fix other peers connection but can only help yours. * I just tried yours and I got 2 red bars in my lobby teleporting everywhere ! * That's incorrect. It can fix peers by blocking as many bad connections to you as possible, based on Distance or Ping. The only way through the geofilter for a bad peer connection is via a fireteam. There will still be red bars in the lobby, but it should be significantly less than not using a Duma.

That only works on blackops 3 now. Geo-Filter no longer blocks players outside your radius in destiny nor will it ever block other players. If it did it would probably kick you out of every other game.

When I select and apply Destiny as my profile it loads up just fine, but if I leave profile menu and go to CC or Geo-Filter for a minute and then go back to profile it shows the 'General Gaming' profile again. It doesn't show the currently loaded profile. If you loaded the Destiny profile and it did it successfully then it is done. That only works on blackops 3 now. Geo-Filter no longer blocks players outside your radius in destiny nor will it ever block other players. If it did it would probably kick you out of every other game. It does, what you're mistaking for players outside your radius is the dedicated server you're connecting to so that blocked players can connect to it to join the game.
