Destiny - Patch 2.4.0 (RoI preparation patch) - Filter problems?

Hi!

Today Bungie got the new guild system online, since that time I get beavered - a lot! This happens in every activity (not only PvP but also PvE and social hubs). Was working before and is also working fine with the geo filter turned off. I also noticed this on the map, so apparently the (new?) dedicated servers are getting blocked?

Is this a problem that can be addressed by updating the cloud settings?

Thanks!

Hi, so your saying that before you got beaver error often, you do the cloud update refresh a few weeks ago didnt you, for the marionberry issue? But after youve loged into today your starting to see this issue?

I think they are the AmazonAWS that Bungie use, why do you have a orange cube in your map?? do you have admin mode

I had to untick Enable UPNP forwarding to fix the issue for me. Once I unticked that I didnt get the locks anymore.

Ok, thanks - I'll give it a try. :)

Yep, exactly. Worked since I updated the database, but it seems like that Bungie now changed something with their servers in preparation for Rise of Iron. Seems to be the same issue as here.

Tbh: I have no clue why this it there. ;) I think this is the host I clicked on by accident.

Is this occurring when you load up the game for the first time or when you're actually searching for a game?

Those padlocks should get allowed if they're within your radius or you have strict off (which you should for Destiny) is that not the case?

Try the workaround posted above and I'll look into it.

This only happens when matchmaking, I get booted before the map is loaded, though. Strict is off, I'm now reflushing the cloud as unticking UPNP did nothing. :(

/EDIT: I also get booted from the social space/PvE missions from time to time with a "beaver" error. :/

Looks different since I refreshed the cloud settings. I'll monitor it even further but I think (hope) that this did the trick.

Great to hear that worked for you, if you have a Geo-filter issue like this it's always good to reflush the cloud. Let us know how you get on!

Going to further test these settings with some time in the Crucible in the evening, but so far - so good. :)

As far as I know, Destiny doesn't have dedicated servers. It only has a crappy peer-to-peer system.

I wish it did have dedicated servers, so I can block the crappy ones in California and connect to servers in the South (like COD). Being in California and playing on Activision's California servers is pure AIDS.

also appears that some servers are being tagged incorrectly now because of this:

5b0d622daafa555a - appears to be a destiny server

Destiny does use dedicated servers, but only for matchmaking etc. Everything else is peer-to-peer, yes. :(

Oh and btw: Filter was working until yesterday, then I had to reflush the cloud again to get it up working. I'm using the Netduma v2 Theme - could this be the problem? (IIRC I read something about switching the theme back to Default to get something like this fixed?)

I know Fraser has referenced the Netduma v2 theme with slowness in the R1's web interface. And he has said if you are having any issues with it to change it back to default.

It would be worth changing the theme to find out if it solves the issue. Let us know how you get on :)

I'll give it a try. :) The filter worked most of the time, but it wasn't working yesterday in the evening. So I had to reflush the cloud to get it working again.
