Vileself
I've had this device for a few months now (Got it late February). At first I noticed a difference in my gaming performance. Connections definitely seemed smoother. Hit detection seemed on point. My KD was slowly but surely going up. I was a happy customer. Lately everything has just gone to crap! I have literally tried everything. I've moved my geofilter all over North America. I've made it big, I've made it small. I've tried Ping Assist. Strict Mode On/Off. I changed my Upload and Download caps in increments all the way down to 10% etc. I'm getting slaughtered in every game. I'm using the ASMI, AK12 and the BAL and I'm losing ridiculous gunfights to SN6 and KF5 and it feels like they're barely touching me. I haven't played AW in a while because I've been hooked on Bloodborne but I thought Id take advantage of the X2XP this weekend and I just spent the last 2 hours raging at the top of my lungs because I cant win a single 1 on 1 gunfight. I even have people turning on me that's how bad it is. I'm running version 1.02.7 which I think is old yet it says I have the latest version. So what the heck happened? At first the R1 felt like it was actually helping me get some good connections, now it almost seems like its doing the opposite. I'm about ready to give up on this thing. lthoma89
Its because we are forced to play majority of games on the dedicated servers. Alot of people are noticing this as well. I always on the atl server and im getting rekted in gunfights. When i DO get a p2p game, it plays way different. Sucks at the moment, even if you move your home, you will either get thrown onto another server or wont find any games.
psygn
You have to update manually (for now or forever, I don't recall): http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=manual_update But the game at it's core falls apart pretty quickly when you have a lot of tryhards like myself boosting around and constantly moving about. The engine can't handle it very well and you end up seeing things happen with a delay. A lot of players playing extra hard to squeeze every drop out of the double xp. Administrators Netduma Iain Posted April 25, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 25, 2015 Hey Vile, could you try out what Dirty Dog said please and we can help. All I can say though is if your getting bad lobbies when their local, imagine how bad they would be when their foreign.
fuzzy clam
@ Vileself for sure upgrade first. And as far as your gaming goes join the club brother. It's the game and servers not your duma.I have the same thing going on as i'm sure tons of others do as well. The AW servers are terrible at the moment as IMO the game is broken past the point of being fixed. Add to this the fact that the player base is split between 4 consoles and in a week 2 DLC's which further fragment the player base, then on top of that the low player count on AW and you got the situation we have now.Which is a terrible gaming experience for most. Ghosts and BO2 play really smooth with the duma thou, you might want to check them out, you'll just have to adjust your settings on the duma a little bit.On PS3 the other day there were 160,000 playing BO2 during the week.which is crazy for a game going on 2 plus yrs old. Vileself
Ok I have a wealth of information so hopefully we can figure this out. Sorry in advance if this turns out to be a TL;DR I just want to cover all of my bases. So as I mentioned before the router and its features seemed to work great for me when I first got it. Then I took a bit of a break from CoD and now that I'm back playing again things seem to be a mess. I must address that during that time I did upgrade my internet package and my ISP provided me with a new modem/router box. It is also worth noting that the box they gave me is a temporary one because the one I require for my internet package was out of stock at the time. (I have not yet gone back to get the proper box). So I will attach pictures of all my R1 settings and stuff. I also picked a random game from my play session last night and made a little death montage of all the deaths that felt unfair. (Note: I died several other times during the match but I didn't include them in the vid because the deaths actually made sense) I'm also including a screen shot of the internet speeds I am supposed to be getting as well as a screenshot of the speeds that I got when I ran a speetest just a few minutes ago. Thanks in advance! Unfair Deaths: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOAWrKA8eyM
Spediegunz
I been playing on double xp all day and managed to find a few p2p lobbies you just have to be pacient and you'll land in one I put my home location in Georgia and set the radius to about 700 miles ping assist always on off. Make sure you reset your game for any little Change you make on the host filtering each time. What will happen is you'll find lobbies and get booted out over and over for about 5-10 minutes then You'll end up in a lobby with about 5 or 6 people in it once you can get 8 to join you're good to go. You'll notice that p2p hosted rooms will take much longer to load up. Once you find that one good room hold on to that host for dear life. Good luck I know what you're going through brother
anybloodyname
I found the same yesterday on uk dedis, played terrible for about 2 hours loosing nearly all 1 on 1 gunfights and hit markers galore. I can't wait for black ops 3, totally fed up.with advanced warfare warfare. The dedicated servers are horrible plain and simple
mark
It'll be the same old problem when blops 3 comes out same every year it was same with ghosts now everyone says it plays great when new cod comes out everyone will say aw plays great I think the franchise has had its day I'm afraid i just learn to live with it
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted April 26, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 26, 2015 You live in Canda right Vile? Because your home is on the Geo-Filter is quite far from your real home. Other than that, what I have noticed is your last mile ping is pretty high(with a bit of jitter as well). What that means is it takes at least 40ms just to leave your home and you've got jitter just getting there. So based on that the lowest ping you're going to get should be around the 40ms mark which the ping graph shows you are. So in terms of latency it seems you are getting the best you can out of your connection. However 40ms is not that bad, I'd still say that is a good connection. Have you tried playing older cods do you have the same issue?

Vileself
I have tried moving my geofilter around all over the place. Even put it in the UK. My results varied all over but I just cant seem to get the same quality of games I was getting when I first got this router. Having an average of 40ms ping doesn't sound too bad but in reality I'm getting slaughtered. It wasn't like this before but as I said I changed some things with my ISP so I'm gonna have to go through them to see if I can get some things sorted out. I will try an older CoD later on and see what kind of results I can get. Thanks for the response.

But now we are on dedis 99% of the time and they are horrible. What I find works best is to just set your geo filter location to somewhere in the ocean. Set the size to 111km, strict mode on, ping assist to 60 and search for a game.

Black Ops 2 was already in the PS3 so that's what I went with. I played for about 2 hours and experienced 0 blatantly lag related deaths. Gunfights felt fair. My shots were mostly counting. I raged but only at Target Finders and campers (hate those guys). I even managed to get some semi-decent gameplays that I can actually use for a commentary. That's something that was nearly impossible to do on AW lately. I glanced at my ping graph a few times and depending on the match it seemed was averaging between 30-60ms, all of which generally felt pretty smooth. I am going to try again tomorrow with Ghosts for a few matches. If that works similarly to how Black Ops 2 performed tonight then I will conclusively be satisfied with the answer that Advanced Warfare matchmaking is a pile of elephant pooh. Oh, I should also mention that my PS3 is on a wifi connection, not wired so its extra special that I was able to have such smooth games on it. I will post the results of my Ghosts session tomorrow. Administrators Netduma Iain Posted April 27, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 27, 2015 Hi Vile I'd highly recommend playing wired when possible. Also I'm not sure if you're aware but we have a top 5 gameplays this month. fuzzy clam
Vile - If you read my post above i told ya brother, the older cods play much smoother. And i'd be willing to bet that ghosts will play just fine for you also. And the reason is it will be mostly P2P games. I tried playing AW this weekend for the 2 XP just so i can finish my second set of Master Prestige's and call it good. But man i didn't last an hour on Friday or Saturday and didn't even play on Sunday, just not work the headache.Stick with the older cod's,hell i even play MW3 and that's fun.
