azleb Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Hi Everyone Is there any way I can use the extended wifi range of my modem and let the Netduma control all access? Or another alternative suggestions on how I can do this? Also I am about to be connect to the Australian NBN Fibre network. Can I use the netduma as my main modem then? Or will I still need an additional Modem to connect? Thanks for your help!
Zennon Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 You will use the modem given to you by your ISP and connect it to port one on the duma via Ethernet cable. Using the duma's WiFI for things like phones and tablets and wire your PC/Console via Ethernet to the duma for gaming.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 5, 2016 Administrators Posted July 5, 2016 See Zennon's advice above. If the issue is that the R1 doesn't broadcast WiFi as far as your hub then I would recommend getting a WiFi extender. If you used WiFi on the hub then congestion control on the duma would not work correctly.
azleb Posted July 5, 2016 Author Posted July 5, 2016 yeah that why I want the Netduma to control all my devices. I want the congestion control to monitor and restrict all the devices while gaming. Is there any brand Wifi extenders that you recommend that work well with the router? Thanks for the advise guys :-)
abc123 Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 to fix the issue you could easily add an Access Point the best of which is: https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-Networks-802-11ac-Dual-Radio-UAP-AC-PRO-US/dp/B015PRO512 From there you will have awesome WiFi simply attach that via ethernet to your router and you will have a great network
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted July 5, 2016 Netduma Staff Posted July 5, 2016 Don't really have any recommendations but any one should work in theory. Glad we could solve your issue, let us know if you have any more problems.
