Netduma inaccurate ping graph.

Recommended Posts

So i was playing Advanced Warfare and the host was in my city but it was not a very good host and the ping graph was showing like 9-15ms ping to that host which i know was not accurate as the gameplay didn't feel that smooth and the hit detection was not on point. This happens to me sometimes even in other CoDs too. The ping graph shows a very low ping to the host but the gameplay doesn't feel anywhere near 9-15ms ping. Netduma shows accurate ping to dedicated servers. My base ping is 8ms. Someone explain me why this is happening. Thank you.

A lot of the time with CODs other people in the lobby determine how the game feels or is played from my personal experience low ping doesn't mean the gameplay will be good It just means you yourself have a lowping to the server, I'd just block that server If it were me.

Im talking about player hosts.i have seen a bad host where everyone in the lobby will be 2-3 bars and the gameplay feels really bad yet the netduma shows im pinging 20ms to that host. So the netduma takes my ip address to find my location and shows ping to the host according to the distance he is away from me without taking into consideration other factors such as the hosts connection?

Use Peer Ping to look at the ping of people in your lobby... What you're seeing when you ping the server is your ping (round trip), but the other guys won't be the same and if they are, then you'll have a better more fair game.

I think i misunderstood the ping graph. The ping graph will show high ping if i have issues on my end but if my connection is optimal and the host is close to me the ping will be low as it doesn't take into account other factors such as local congestion on the hosts internet. I get it now thank you for your help i will definitely use peer ping when playing on a player host.

I use peer ping even when on the dedicated servers.

My ping usually hits from 2-6ms in the control panel and shows nothing less than 17ms in game. And trust me, the game still stutters like a US to UK lobby would. Call of Duty has bad net code.

The in-game ping includes processing time at the server and it's not very accurate either. I've turned my in-game graph off and have never looked back.

UK to US lobbies don't stutter for me, the majority of them play surprisingly well, nice and smooth.

And neither do they stutter for the US lads I team with on the UK servers (again, occasionally but not usually).

If your US to US games are stuttering then you have a problem.
