Something's Not Right: Please Help

Recommended Posts

My connection has been crap lately through the Netduma on Xbox One with Black Ops 3. I don't know what is going on. Ping Plotter, (ping has averaged or remained under 20ms to 8.8.8.8) as far as I can tell, is good. I am getting a lot of rubber banding. It feels like I am running through mud. Very sluggish. A lot of texture pop in. And tons of shoot first die first.

When I first had the Duma it was okay, but something is clearly off. I was not having these problems before.

I've tried temp banning servers. Widening my range, adjusting sliders, etc. It just feels and plays lousy. I know how it was before and it is worse.

I have also reset everything, including the xbox one (cleared cache).

Another thing I noticed - my emblem even seems laggy in game. It often has the little Treyarch loading Logo. Haven't had this before.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you changed any settings or anything like that?

Can you post up a screenshot of your settings so we can have a look?

You connection can go bad overnight, mine went completely to sh*t over a couple of days - I started rubber-banding constantly and I'd literally never had it happen before. My connection didn't get any better over several weeks (and engineer visits etc) and I was forced to change ISP in the end. I'm not saying your connection has gone bad though, I'm just saying it can be fine and then suddenly it's wrecked.

If it feels like it's playing particularly bad then jump out of the game - disable wifi (so nothing can get on the network) plug in an ethernet and PingPlot. You need to post up your results if you want us to have a look of course.

You should also run a long pingplot (several hours) at peak time to something big and local. Make sure you adjust the graph at the bottom so that we can see the whole plot because 10 seconds worth of graph is not as useful.

I've seen the texture loading thing a few times before, it tends to clear after about 20 seconds but I don't know what causes it.

I've also seen the emblem loading on my own and on loads of others - again, I don't know what causes this but it doesn't seem to cause any problems so it doesn't bother me.

Run ping plotter at peak times so around 730pm onwards to check your ISP.

https://www.pingplotter.com/download/

Type the IP you wish to ping into taget and press go, after say 30 mins or so press File , save image and post your results please.

I am not able to shell out an additional $ 40 for ping plotter standard. But running the basic ping plotter and checking it periodically there is no spike in my ping. It has consistently remained under 25ms while running to 8.8.8.8

I have now let it run for 18 hours and even though I am only able to see last 10 minutes there has been no variation. I keep it running to the side so I am able to keep an eye on it.

I also removed my Netduma from the equation. I had one really good game, then another horrendous game.

I was having issues with my connection about two weeks ago. They have been fixed.

My texture loading does not clear after 20 seconds. It lasts the entire game. I am wondering if this could be something with the internal hard drive...?

In my experience, the ones with emblems and the treyarch loading logo - they are the ones lagging up a bit.

I am going to have to try some more experimentation tonight.

If you have never used the product before you can use the pro version for 14 days.

Here's a link to ping plotter for about 1 hour: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=D14C71AF2CA60CDF!1245&authkey=!AGkPv4B-kE43ZTM&v=3&ithint=photo%2cpng

I am not sure how to post additional pictures on this forum. I must be missing something...?

Is your solution to throttle your connection down to the bare minimum?

Which even if it did work would stop anyone else in your house from using the internet.

And also, it doesn't work.

I have been having issues also. My Netduma control panel keeps saying having issues, with ping... Its either cause my R1 is not up to date and thats the issue, or its bc i have the Netduma R1 plugged into the netgear range extender bc the fly by at&t guy didnt rewire the modem into my living space, but left it where it was and just set up the range extender... so i took advantage of the ethernet port on the netgear wifi range extender he plugged into my wall socket to put the Netduma there. Hope things can get resolved! Best of luck, because i know i need some too XD

It just keeps saying "something went wrong when trying to ping" and usually around that time i get DC'ed from the servers... i can connect right back to xbox live and get back in a lobby without any issue. Of course staying in the lobby is the,issue...

Hello ChickenJoe it's easier for us to help one person at a time per post.  Create your own support post concerning your particular issue.  But here some suggestions for you:

Why am I getting the 'Something went wrong when trying to ping' error?

You may have a device enabled in the VPN settings. Make sure you have disabled all the devices on the VPN pages. You may not be connected to a VPN but if a device is selected it can cause and issue with pinging.

If you are still experiencing issues, try these solutions:

  • Disable Adblock on your web browser.
  • Disable your PC's firewall.
  • Disable your PC's antivirus.

Sounds odd, so how is it setup now? modem > wifi extender > duma?

If so would not recommend that. Would go modem > duma > wifi extender.
