Netduma Behind Existing Router Problems

Recommended Posts

Hello, I've browsed the forums and have yet to find a solution.

Ethernet > Asus Router > NetDuma

In my Asus Control Panel (192.168.1.1) its showing "Routerboard.com" with the IP of "192.168.1.179".

I of course cannot access the Netduma control panel via that IP. I've placed that IP within DMZ and even tried the "192.168.88.1" in case.

Please help.

Modem > Asus > Netduma.

Modem LAN Port 1 to Asus WAN Port > Asus LAN Port 1 to Netduma WAN Port.

Asus = 192.168.1.1

Netduma = 192.168.88.1

Your Asus sees the Netduma R1 as a device, not a router, so via DHCP it assigns an IP address and in your case the Asus chose 192.168.1.179...

Have you tried accessing your router by typing 192.168.88.1 in your browser or were you saying that you did that already as that wasn't clear to me.

EDIT: Just follow link above.

I sure have, doesn't work.

I connected the Internet Source > Netduma > Asus

this is the way i have mine set up and it works great - except my internet is eating balls right now.

Why do you not want it set up this way? It gives you more control

I expect bandwidth congestion is not really a problem for you then...

I'm afraid gigabit internet support is beyond me, it's rarer than unicorn poop in the UK

You need to setup a route and manually setup a static ip for your Netduma.

First setup a static ip under Lan > DHCP Server tab and scroll down to the bottom of the page, you should manually assignment. Enable this feature and assign you Netduma an IP address.

Second setup a route under the Lan > Route tab and enable static routes.

Then setup a route for your Netduma :

Network/Host ( 192.168.88.0 )

Netmask ( 255.255.255.0 )

Gateway ( will be the static ip you assigned your Netduma from your Asus router )

Metric ( 1 )

Interface ( Lan )

You will have to enable access control panel from wan in the Netduma router under miscellaneous settings.

I hope this helps..

You can access the Netduma from the anything connected to the Asus but you first have to check "Access control panel from WAN" on the Misc page.

You would need to connect a pc to the Netduma to check that box. You could also connect to the Netduma Wifi and check that box.
