COD Ghost 2 ?

I was really, REALLY hoping this would not be the case.

No matter what argument is made about Ghosts (the hit detection was great JD) the game still sucked.  It didn't sell, it killed YouTube channels, it didn't hold player interest, it didn't live on in post CoD release infamy.  It was just a boring, bland game.

And now you want to try and sell me on Round 2?

Not a fucking chance.  I'll play something else if this is the only FPS shooter available at the time, but no fucking way are you getting me on board this hype train.  I have ZERO confidence in IW.

I'll pick it up used in Dec so I can keep my word to suffer through it with Fuzzy Clam, but I am not buying this one in any fashion that supports Activision or Infinity Ward.

If you didn't learn your lesson the first time around, and you want to spend 3 years and a few hundred million on making the  "Ishtar of CoD 2", there is absolutely ZERO reason for me to jump on that sinking ship.  :)

I shared this on the COD forum. It has yet to be approved so it can't be viewed yet, but if it is I gave you full credit. I'll add the link here. Thanks for the info.

If they could make it a fast paced boots on the ground game it could be a decent game. What stopped me playing was the awful PC version. I picked it up second hand on XB1, played the SP - it was average at best and the MP was not to my liking. I liked some of the DLC ideas but not enough to play the game myself.

the sales of cod is usually related to how people felt about the previous title so if ghosts didnt sell well it was probably caus people didnt like mw3

Everybody and their next of kin has speculated the next CoD will be Ghosts 2 based on a number of factors:

-Cliffhanger at the end of Ghosts campaign

-Developer / Development cycle

-Ghosts MP was actually well-liked among those who played it, but not the majority of the CoD Community

-Community hoping for a return to boots on the ground game play

However, the biggest problem is "the next CoD is only as good as the last one" and in this case, the deck is stacked against Ghosts 2, for obvious reasons.

Will the community even buy a game titled Ghosts 2 when the majority did not like the first title?

Will Activision market it as "Modern Warfare 4" to bait and switch potential consumers?

I will only buy Ghosts 2 / MW4 if Squads returns. Period. If not... BO3 will be my last CoD game as there are plenty of other and better FPS games on the market with developers who actually care about and listen to their communities to address the biggest concerns.

people didnt like ghosts as far as i can tell due to people that couldnt play the game camping in corners in order to get their kills but same thing happens in all cod games always has always will

yes ghosts had a few maps to big for a good game but then again all the maps played really well aslong as people didnt camp but if they did it didnt really matter what map you were on,

ghosts for me had best hit detection of any cod ever

least amount of lag

best class setups cause you could choose different scorestreaks for each class etc so you could play different maps in different ways

extinction was great loved that

campaign was pretty good (bo3 worst campaign ever)

loved the survival mode whatever that was called

field orders was a nice touch to and could kinda be compared to the specialists in bo3 but actually took some skill to achieve instead of just getting free in a certain amount of time

best dlc ever with the map based killstreaks like predator etc so much fun and the first time on that map with mike myers and that music came on i had no idea what was going on and shit myself lol

i love titanfall so wall running etc not new to me and love the movemnt in bo3 and think that boots on ground is step backwards so cant see that happening but if its fast paced enough either way suits me aslong as the damn hit detection works cause at end of the day whats the point of a shooter if shooting is useless and knifing etc is more effective like is often case in bo3

I will never understand the argument that Ghosts was successful.  It wasn't.  There is nothing in the performance or legacy of Ghosts to justify spending another hundred million (or whatever) on a version two of a game 214 people liked.

"The hit detection was great" - Was it?  Or was it that the TTK was so stupidly low a single hit marker was enough?

"Not everyone camped" - You are right, those of us that moved around got continually bullshitted on and shot in the back.  Couple that with that fucking idiot Sakken/Saken blowing dongs one after another over at YT to have a month long promo about his fucking channel on everyone's videos.  Camping his balls off and losing 70% of his games.

The maps sucked.  Who can forget Octane? And Stone-haven? Try as I might, I still can't forget that fucking shit show.

Streaks?  The point of playing CoD is the streaks.  Otherwise we would be playing 10 other games that have better play-ability.  We like our streaks and we expect them to put in work when we earn them.  The streaks in Ghost were shit.  Who's fucking idea was it to chain ground based gear to generate a true UAV?  The fact that it only worked in a small area LED to further camping of that fucking area.

Read this morning, and again above, that the rumor mill has this taking place in space?  With all sorts of crazy movement?

Absolutely not.  I wouldn't cross the street to piss on a copy of Ghosts if it were on fire.  I don't expect to feel any different with this next version.

look it up, based on damage per shot and rate of fire etc almost all the guns in bo3 are supposed to kill in less time than guns in ghosts

I can't believe you picked Octane, not that it was a good map but there were some others that were so horrific that I would rage quit if that map got picked. Can't remember all the names but Octane was not the worst. LOL

I only played the game a few hours on the opening week, but Octane was a map everyone was voting because of the quick engagements.  I hated that map with a passion by the second or third day of having the game.  Everyone was posted up with long range sniper and thermal LMG's just waiting for you to peak out.  It sucked.

The best thing about Octane, other than not having to play it again, was when Crimsix went ham at Champs and dropped like 7 or 8 guys in a row with the sniper.  And then Haggy turned on him and MELTED him right as the game was coming to an end....LOL
